Boomer Hate Thread

So here's something from the India Menace Thread that I wanted to bring up here, because it involves Boomers and their ignorance. The TL;DW is that Matt Walsh recently did a video about how "everything is fake nowadays", and one of the segments of his show talks about how a senior citizen lost all of his money due to an online romance scam. Don't get me wrong, I'm fucking sick and tired of getting spam emails and texts from turd-world scammers, but at the end of the day, it takes two to tango. I want to empathize with Boomer grampa here for having his money drained by someone who presumably shits in the streets -- but come on, man! I think the bigger picture here is how Boomers are so damn gullible and technologically inept.

Again, look: I feel bad for this poor widower for losing it all. But that doesn't change the fact that he foolishly escalated the conversation with the stranger that ultimately had him giving them access to his investment accounts and taking all of his money. Hell, if my wife died and I received a random text message from the most attractive woman on the planet (assuming she's actually real) and she wanted me to pay her thousands of dollars so I can make more money, I'd say, "Yeah right. Get lost, lady."

This isn't an isolated case, either. Why do you think Kitboga infamously impersonated an elderly woman in his video heard around the world? Why do stores like Hobby Lobby have warning signs at the register informing customers to not buy gift cards for strangers? I had friends who worked for large retail chains, and they told me that on a daily basis they would have elderly customers come in and purchase a bunch of gift cards for strangers over the internet, and that it was one of the saddest things they've ever seen.

You constantly hear sob stories about 60+ Boomers getting catfished on facebook and unknowingly sending their entire savings to romance scammers, despite the scam victims being married. There was a fairly recent story similar to Matt Walsh's video, except the man wasn't a widower -- he was just some married Boomer who had a house with his wife, and then randomly decided to drain his bank account for some shitskin in a foreign country who masqueraded as a supermodel that wanted to "marry him". It's not just men, either: last year some old woman in the U.K. sent her savings to a Brad Pitt deepfake account on social media.

It really does take two to tango.

"Not technically a boomer" yeah but this is some of the most boomer-coded bullshit I've seen in awhile. Hackman did it. Goldblum said the same shit. It's rampant. I understand the hate for Nepo-Babies (and in that specific instance they're right about having to "earn it") but that should only apply if your kid is going/wanting to go into the same field as you. If not, then this just comes off as you hating them for not doing so imo.

As more and more actual Boom booms die off, "Boomer" is gonna become more and more of a mindset than anything else.

I don't get this shit of intentionally kneecapping your kids for the applause of others.

It's the same as boomers who say with pride on their voice how they will not leave their kids any inheritance. I actually agree with the idea that no one is deserved an inheritance (is shitty not to, you should obviously do it because that's how family works) but to take out as a point of pride to hurt your own kids like that is fucking bonkers.

I don't owe the guy stranded in the side of the road a ride but am sure as hell not going into the office to tell everyone how I stopped and then sped off after rolling coal in his face.

You just reminded me of this video. Anybody over the age of 55 seems to think that A.I. is either God or Magic. It's wild.

This reminds me of one time when my mom was watching the news and she told me "Have you heard of these new AI voices where they can impersonate you and you can't even tell?" I said it's really easy to spot AI and I see it all the time on YouTube and she just hit me with this one

Last I checked she watches YouTube Shorts a lot (on the TV for some reason). A lot of AI voices. Hopefully she's starting to learn what they sound like.

It's also wild if you consider it's an ego/narc thing. They think they truly deserve / are in the same league as some model or famous actor. Most guys my generation I know are suspicous when an average girl asks them out. Quite the contrast.

It really is a cliche at this point. I, sadly, work with a lot of boomers, and they love to regale you how crafty they were as children or what mavericks they were back in school. And how little they supported their children, all that tough love crap.
What struck me in my teenage years was how many of us weren't really, you know, parented. We were just around, no one talked to us about what comes after school, very few got taught any sort of skills etc. Even or especially the kids from good families, you know, doctors and lawyers children.

Zero ability to discern AI from reality in the boomers I know. For a while these videos where hulk like figures were sentenced to thousand year prison sentences were popular around here, they thought that's all real.

And I really feel that image. Back in 2008 I started quite a few arguments by talking about the recession - with boomers getting angry saying there was no recession because domestic media and politicians refused to declare it as such. Or during covid when inflation started heating up here - media didn't call it that, and the argument was "it's just everything getting more expensive, it's not inflation" or something idiotic along those lines.

Are they really that desperate for action that they are willing to take the chance to get fucked over and have the last of their money taken from them from a green card hungry gook?
In short: yes.

There's a great YouTube channel where an older Englishman narrates stories sent to him by Western men who go to Asia and get scammed by bar whores. He literally never runs out of stories.
The fact is that the vast majority of Western men who marry SEAmonkeys are losers who could never get a decent woman in their own country. The women in SEA are fully aware of this and hold them in contempt while draining all of their resources.

This is a very common experience for Gen X. I got zero life advice or wisdom from my own parents. No guidance. No relationship advice. Nothing. 17 years old and kicked out of the house for being an inconvenience. Then my mother had the nerve to ask me how I was planning to go to university.

There's a word for that. Inflation. I get so sick of the propaganda by redefining words.
Inflation sounds too scary. It's just like when old people say:
- I have some issues with my vision recently.
- Something weird is going on with my legs, can't walk quite right.
-I have quite bad coordination of my hands lately

Because saying out loud and repeatedly they had a stroke would mean admitting to self their own mortality.

It's funny, 90 day fiancee did have an American and a Thai couple that actually worked out well, but they were both young, 28/25, she was middle class background. Far cry from the boomer experience here.

What is it about AI that infatuates boomers? My dad keeps showing me AI slop, mostly Trump based, sent from his boomer friends like it’s the funniest thing ever and about the best I can do is maybe do a half hearted smirk at most.
i was thinking about this the other day, idk who it is here that has the avatar of the retard staring at the shiny light cube but it's the perfect analogy for boomers and ai

Honestly I’d have taken a world where we never shut down from Covid and the summer of love never happened if it meant a decent economy that never went under and a somewhat more sane world, and the price for it all was a million or so more boomers croaking off while people ignored their nagging and crocodile tears.

COVID didn't kill enough. It was our chance to correct the social security system by significantly reducing the number of recipients, and we didn't take it. Future generations will look back on this decision the same way we look back at Germany losing WWI today.

Assuming they meet in a normal fashion, white/asian couples are usually pretty stable.

Regardless of anyone's opinions of the vaccines, the worst case scenario is that they were actually effective and kept a few million extra boomers around for another decade. We spent billions developing a vaccine to keep useless geriatrics and deathfats alive longer to consume more welfare dollars.

I understand wanting your children to learn to fend for themselves, but what confuses me is that boomers and those of boomer mindset do it in such a way where they live in luxury while the child lives in near poverty. The boomer never joins the child in the lesser setting, they always maintain their own luxuries.

It's like riding a top-of-the-line bike in front of a child and telling the child "you gotta learn" then riding off. Then the child just sits there alone and struggles to ride a rusty old bike that isnt their size, has no training wheels, and they dont know how to so much as adjust the seat.

Like how hard is it to just help your kids? Provide some wisdom? The whole point of birthing the next generation is so they are better than you. If you have acquired resources or wisdom to make your children more capable of survival, then what is wrong with helping children? Why do children have to start from 0?

Most baby boomers didnt start from 0. They might have started at the bottom of the corporate ladder, but this was during a time where resumes were not needed, higher education degrees and certifications were not needed, post-war economy provided substaintial uplift, they had a homogenous society, there were less government regulations so people and the environment were more easily exploited, and they had the support of the previous generations who DID help their children.

It's all so mind boggling.

Boomer parents can be pretty brutal.

BREAKING NEWS: "Will Ferrell confused as to why his children will no longer go on holiday with him."

The boomer mentality makes sense when you realize that they had children "because you're supposed to".
People like that really shouldn't have children because they'll treat children and grandchildren like a novelty and a burden.
Nailed it.

They had kids because that was what they were told to do, and they treat their kids like shit because kids are a forced upon them inconvenience, not something they wanted. Boomers and Gen X are really some sick, twisted fucks.

Shining up your past while attempting to grandstand on youth is an old person thing in general, I think.

Now: "Herp a derp we only made 3 pennies an hour but still moved out the millisecond we turned 18 and never looked back!"

Future: "REEEEEE we survived covid and still skibidied every last toilet!"

Thats basically everything for Boomers.

He hates his wife and only married her because he thought he had to.
He hates his kids and only had them because he thought he had to.
He has a boat, but never uses it and only has it because he thinks he has to.

Its honestly kinda sad.

Yes, anything to deny inheritance to their own children, which I’ve noticed some get really fucking angry about. They are supposed to be the ones taking, not giving, and they will never let you forget it.
