What the fuck.

What the absolute fuck.

What in the everloving fuck did boomers do to your guys' mashed potatoes that makes you not like them and consider it boomer food now holy shit. If I ever hated boomers for anything it's for that.
Boxed mashed potatoes made with too much water, no salt, and left out to get cold are disgusting. I grew up hating mashed potatoes and corn the way we made them. The corn and succotash we always had was soupy from how much extra water there was. All of those always went cold very fast, too. I only figured this out after I decided to follow a real recipe that includes butter, salt, and not an absolute assload of water.

Bro, we shouldn't hate men, women or boomers. We should love all people. #PozLoad

So, your parents cooked you food?

Asking as Generation X.

There is this row of old peoples bungalows on my way home, every time I pass the African care assistants are heading in to wipe the shit off their old white hams and I can't help but carry a big fat fucking grin for the misery of everyone involved getting what they deserve. :story:

Boxed... what?

I don't hate boomers. They build everything around us. You see before you can go to the store to buy your Pokemons, some boomer had to build the store, the road leading up to the store as well as the house you live in.

That being said, boomers are the reason that you will never catch them all. So I kind of see your point, but I bet, it's nice to have some Pokemons instead of none at all.

Protip: when at the store, get actual potatoes, wash them to clean off the mud, cut them in quarters or halves depending on size and boil them in tap water with a dash of salt. You don't have to mash them, you can just add a bit of butter, season with salt, pepper, dill and maybe some sour cream and a dash of parmesan. If you must mash them, add a tablespoon or two of milk, same recipe otherwise.

why does null like to feature random SNCA
He may have read that godawful WSJ piece today about luxury boomer communists who are UP-sizing now that they're empty nesters.

Archiving is being a bitch at the moment, but here's the direct (paywalled) link: https://www.wsj.com/economy/housing/baby-boomer-home-sales-real-estate-879614be

How the piece opens, the fucking selfish cunts:

Angela and Victor Martino raised their two daughters decades ago in a ranch house measuring less than 2,000 square feet. The empty-nesters recently bought the 5,000-square-foot house next door. After a year-long renovation, the Denair, Calif., home has a huge kitchen with space for the commercial meat slicer that Victor uses to cut a leg of prosciutto at family events. There is a playroom with polished concrete floors meant to withstand damage from their seven grandchildren. The primary bathroom tub has features to help them get in and out more easily as they get older.

“We’ll downsize when they plant me 6 feet into the ground,” said Victor, 64.

Imagine raising your kids in 2,000 sq ft, and the moment they're out of the house you decide "actually it would be pretty sweet to live in a mansion now. Fuck them kids they'll get support from us when we are dead"

He is definitely slipping mentally. I had genuinely thought he was relieving himself outside somewhere on our property because he hardly ever comes in to use the bathroom. And since he uses the garden hose to rinse his dentures off, why not rinse his underwear out outside?

But

This was really the best option.
Does he shit in the street?

There's also a weirdly boomer specific trait in which they all insist that their leftovers (books, media, collectibles, etc) "Be used by someone". They will hand you straight up garbage and insist it has value. It's insane and some of the most arrogant, disrespectful shit I've ever encountered.
90% of it comes down to "I feel bad throwing this away, so YOU throw it away instead." Libraries often have to put a blanket ban on taking material donations because otherwise boomers will show up trying to push a Golden Girls Season 4 VHS and instruction manual for a blender that stopped working in 1997.

It's a step down from being a hoarder. I had boomer relatives trying to pawn off shit like toy guitars on me when I lived in a 1-bedroom apartment with my husband. They're just trying to clear their own space while acting like they're doing you a favor by using you as a free trash pickup service.

Not saying all boomers are bad
hmm

but their fucking over of the housing market really gets to me
the housing distortions are one of the biggest gripes I have with boomers. Go to a nice old-person's home like you shoved your parents in 20-30 years ago you sluts, and let your children build families in houses built for that.

Pre-covid I was convinced the suburban connecticut and new jersey (and for NY maybe like idk, mt kisco or some long island exurbs) would see a housing crash as boomers downsized their mega mansions and their kids stayed in the cities, with no one to buy the mansions. Covid changed everything in NYC. If your local government can impose crazy authoritarian lockdowns you better bet people will pay a premium to get the fuck out and have real houses elsewhere. I swear to god it saved towns like New Canaan, CT which otherwise had absolute ass commutes to the city.

Now I am all in on the boomers will continue to distort the market for the foreseeable future. Bought a(n expensive) house last year. I expect the U.S. will start printing money and causing crazy inflation before we see boomers downsize and let the housing market find a healthy balance. And so it's better to own a home and benefit from the appreciation :)

the youngest boomer is 62
A good horror movie is the year 2040 when jews are all dead and boomers are long gone, boomers start rising from the grave not wanting to eat mankind's flesh but demanding more... just... more, smothering young people to death and moving on to the next casualty.
The climax of the film will be the last surviving jew made himself a satanic cult scientist and brought all the bad ones back to life to exterminate the living. Action ensues. Bill burr gets killed halfway through the movie. He wasn't hired to be in the movie. He was just killed and it was played off as a studio accident.

I see Millenialsissies are still mindbroken by BoomerGODS because they're too lazy and entitled to pull themselves up by their bootstraps

Ever noticed how boomers love to talk and shift conversations around? Almost turns into a podcast.

Nice, a thread I can get behind. Not saying all boomers are bad, and there are some great boomer kiwis on this site, but their fucking over of the housing market really gets to me

This shit literally happened to me. A very nice and cheap(relative to today's market) house with no visible problems to be beaten out by a cash offer that went for $5000 less than asking.

My parents are cool though. They too struggle even in retirement. They're /our/ (/my/) Boomers.
