Spoiler: Sinbad's Fourth Voyage

Sinbad was a piss-poor sailor and not much of a hero. On every one of his voyages he was either abandoned by his crew or ship-wrecked. On his 4th voyage (since you brought it up) he and his crew get ship-wrecked on an island of cannibals. The natives feed the crew an herb which causes forgetfulness and start to fatten them up. Sinbad sees what is happening and refuses to eat the herb. The natives soon start to ignore him and he is able to escape. Does he rescue his men? No! HE LEAVES THEM BEHIND TO BE EATEN! He is found by a party of pepper-gatherers who take him to their island, where he is befriended by the king and given a beautiful and wealthy wife. The wife soon dies, and Sinbad learns it is the custom for the spouse to be entombed as well. He is thrown into a large cavern (a communal tomb) with his dead wife, and is given a jug of water and a few pieces of bread. His supply of bread and water is almost gone when another couple is dropped into the cavern, this time a woman with her dead husband. He beats the woman to death to get her rations and steals the gold and jewels she is wearing. He continues to survive in this fashion, killing surviving spouses and stealing their rations and riches. Finally a wild animal shows him how to get out of the cavern and he is rescued by a passing ship.
