You don't ignore the fact your boyfriend thinks he's the second coming of Christ and you certainly don't introduce him to your mother. Also when Brad brings up their interactions they tend to seem.. off. Like it's not how you'd expect two people to talk, especially ones that are in a relationship together. When he quotes her she sounds as remarkably bland as the other "friends" Brad mentions in his stories. Something isn't right.

The only confirmation we have that she actually exists at all is a very vague forum post of hers. More likely, he did have an association with this woman that has since either ended, or has changed considerably as Brad has deteriorated. Maybe they're no longer together and Brad is making stuff up. Maybe Siva is manipulating Brad to her own ends. This is not uncommon for people in their middle ages, when marriage or even cohabitation don't offer the same benefits. On the other hand, it does suggest (weakly) that her relationship with Brad is not strong enough to consider moving in with him and saving herself the rent and utility costs. Remember, Brad has his own house. Why would someone rather live with a roommate than with the person they're "dating"?

It's a very interesting possibility. I agree that the accounts of conversation Brad gives have an exceptionally synthetic feel to them. Like you said, people don't really talk like that, and it matches exactly his lottery-winner friend who I'm convinced is just another figment of his imagination.
