However, if you look to Exodus 20:12: "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the Lord your God gives you."
Confused? According to Matthew, we are not to call others teachers (Rabbi), father, or a leader. But if we take this literally it supposedly contradicts teachings in other parts of the Bible (i.e. 2 Kings 2:12). The point of not calling people teachers, father, or leaders was not to not use these words, but to recognize that the True Teacher, Father, and Leader is One Authority, and that is God. And so you can see that it is not at all hypocritical to call priests "Father" because we recognize that the only true authority is with God, not with man.

Please do not twist the words of the Bible to fit your own agenda. The Bible specifically warns against this, particularly for glory-seeking people:
