How long until Brad talks about the score from the Gold medal game for the Olympic Ice Hockey game yesterday?

If you're currently watching the Honda Classic on CBS, there are 4 tied for the lead at -7. Tiger had gotten to 4 behind those at -7, but he bogeyed the 9th Hole. He's had 4 consecutive par 4s since.

@Anonymus Fluffer,

When you're born in Miami and have lived here almost your entire life, you don't follow hockey. We play golf in the winter. What was the score from the Gold medal game for the Olympic Ice Hockey game yesterday?

Na. I do write on the Internet while having the TV on. I thought you knew that, 4,9,3,11,8,5,1,4.

Sam Burns, 21, is Tiger's playing partner today.

Burns=74=B2+U21+R18+N14+S19

The two guys who played with Tiger in the 1st Round - Brandt Snedeker and Patton Kizzire - both shot 74.

I was born in Miami on the Day of the Revolution in Cuba. "For every action, there's equal and opposite reaction."

You didn't mention your active social life, what with lunch dates with @:thinking: and doing podcasts with @Flowers For Sonichu .

@Ratman VS Tony Tiger,

I played drumset and some bells in church this morning. Did you attend church today?

According to Brad, the best thing God can do to intervene when some asshole shoots up a school or blows up a truck in the middle of a group of innocent people, is to make the number match Dick's fetish. Sometimes.

"Sara Harris Hutchinson 1974-2018". CBS just paid tribute to someone that worked for them who died and coincidentally was born in 1974. Huh.

not thinking,

I AM a professional musician and it's a paid gig. It's a liberal church and I bring up progressive topics at brunch afterwards. I used to pass out essays, but I haven't done that in a long time. Some of the choir members and church members follow me on Facebook.

Wait, so you send your thoughts through time and think you can summon storms but you can't tell if I've walked into a building dedicated to GOD, the universe computer and the incarnation who communicates with it? Brad, what the fuck?

One would think the Christ would have more important things to do than write (incompetently) on the internet, watch TV and hide childish insults with numbers.

Brad, here is the USA's current population, charted by age and sex.
popreview.JPG

There are roughly 3 million of each: 44 year old men, and 44 year old women, ie. people who were born in 1974. The total population of the USA, according to this page, is 325,979,498. Therefore, there is a 1.84 percent chance that CBS would make a tribute to a person born in 1974 if they chose a person at random, higher if they chose a person at random who just died, and higher still if they chose a person who worked for them who just died, because they don't hire children, and the younger someone is the less likely they are to die.

Source, I'm aware of the repeated 2M on the graph there, and that I corrected it.

@Monolith,

It's not the 1st time I've seen CBS Sports pay tribute to someone who died that worked* for them. It happens a couple times a year - that's 1 of 52 broadcasts a year (they do two a weekend). So include that statistic in your math and what's the probability now?

Are you really that 19.20.21.16.9.4? I have alot of bills to pay, just like everybody else.

It's kind of irrelevant, considering I was only taking the probability for one tribute, but it would be an even higher chance for one of their workers to die at age 44 in one of multiple broadcasts over a time period than one chosen broadcast. I don't have anywhere close to an exact figure for the age distributions of CBS workers, but it's safe to assume it's a normal curve with the ends at graduation age (23) and retirement age (65), so 44 would be right in the center. Here's an estimate:
Capture.JPG

Here's a graph of death rate by age:

dsg587_500_350.jpg

Age 44 averages around a .1% death rate. So, with my knowledge of statistics from part of an algebra class years ago:

Broadcasts: 365 (days) /52(Brad's figure)
7 tribute broadcasts per year

Estimated 10000 CBS workers (can't find an exact figure, will correct if someone has one) * .1% chance of death at age 44 = 10 dead workers at age 44 * 15.11% of being 44 = 1.511% chance of a randomly selected dead 44 year old CBS worker out of all CBS workers.

I'm not going to waste time doing P(44 year old 1st broadcast) or P(not dead 44 year old on 1st broadcast but dead 44 year old on 2nd) or P(not dead 44 year old on 1st or 2nd broadcast but dead 44 year old on 3rd) or... so for simplicity let's just call it 7 broadcasts * 1.511% chance of it being about a dead 44 year old CBS worker is:

a 10.577% chance of CBS doing a broadcast of a dead 44 year old each year. With the current stats, they'd do one slightly more often than once every ten years. Here you go, Brad. Everyone else, bring on the autism ratings.

edit: Brad changed his figure for number of broadcasts from 26 to 52, I had to do the same.

Numerology is what you do, and you are not a scientist. You're just a delusional liar who thinks his TV is talking to him.
My TV says, "You're wrong."

Wrong. I said they do 2 tributes a year.
Estimated 10,000 CBS workers
Wrong. We're only talking about CBS Sports.
a 10.577% chance of CBS doing a broadcast of a dead 44 year old each year.
That's ridiculously high. And the point74 of it all is NOT "a dead 44-year-old", it's someone born in 1974.
