By the way Brad, South Carolina threatened to secede because of tariff of 1828 and 1832. Read up on the South Carolina Ordinance of Nullification. They didn't like the abuse the South got to help out the North. They would also become the first State to secede during the Civil War, mainly again because of how the North treated them.
