💼 Careercow Brandon "Bam" Margera - From Jackass to Lolcow

I haven’t checked this thread in a long time as Bam completely fell off my radar.

Really sucks if he relapsed. He was trying so hard to get full custody of his kid. Seemed like he was focusing all of his energy on skating rather than hanging out with nobodies who continue to live that tired party lifestyle.

Did Bad Grandpa not perform well? I'd rather see something like that then see these guys do a proper Jackass again. Also isn't that poopies guy just as fucked up as Bam was?

I'm glad that Bam is at least well enough for the crew to feel ok with licensing his image for the movie. For a while I legitimately thought he was going to die.

Is the last Jackass movie a clip show with a few new stunts thrown in? Disappointing if it is.
The trailer showed the Big Brother skate video clips of Knoxville getting shot. I doubt they'll have the human BBQ on it, but it'd be nice to have the stuff they cut from the original series.

From what I've seen on the jackass subreddit Poopies was whining after 4 released because he was only paid 5K for the movie. He's also got a bad history with drugs and I believe he had to go out and get a real job

Bam's redemption has been fun to see, but it'll also be fun to see how fast he fucks it up again.
I hope he doesn't. I wish he would get behind the camera more. He legit had a great eye and sense of how to edit shit to work. I watched a couple minutes of him on fishtank and he instantly elevated it just by being there.
I just can't imagine going from being the kid who got made fun of for living next to a shit factory to being insanely rich and experiencing literal Beatlemania everywhere you go. That will fuck anyone up.

Bad Grandpa almost got $152 million in the box office considering its $15.2 million dollar budget. Even jackass forever did good in the box office $80.5 million to a $10 million budget. I think the only movie with some jackass DNA that bombed was action point (the movie with Johnny Knoxville and Chris Pontius running a fictionally inspired version of action park) that movie made $5.1 million in the box office and had a $19 million dollar budget. Also weird thing was that movie was shot in south africa?

Surprising to say the least that this is officially the gayest Bam Margera story, not that it’s a shock given all the gay photos and lust for Ville Valo.

His editing in CKY 1-4, mixed with his favorite music, legitimately influenced a generational style. From skate videos to AMVs and frag videos, I personally feel like there's some Bam DNA in a lot of the videos made in the 2000s. And it's arguably what made him famous; he was not the best skater, wasn't as funny as Ryan or Brandon, wasn't as musically talented as his brother, wasn't as stylish as the Him guys he idolized, etc. But he was able to package all that together in a video form which was just really fun to watch.

It really is interesting. I don't remember where, maybe in the "leaked" "CKY 5" that came out earlier this year (last year?), but there was a clip of an interview with somebody talking about how Bam gradually went from making skate videos to CKY videos essentially in an attempt to hold the attention of both his skater friends and non-skater friends. He was, in very direct way, a pioneer in the attention economy that eventually evolved into hyperpop tiktok slop. He figured out through trial and error what held the attention of ADHD tweens, and that knowledge took him to MTV and beyond.
