Bravely Default

It's fun! Trying to decide if I want to choose the Red Mage asterisk or thief as what's gotten from this side quest.

I've restarted different games over making a character with slightly the wrong hair colour, so this will be hard

You'll get both eventually.

What I do feel like sharing is that it seems like Bravely Second was censored in the worst way: namely, that very choice [and others like it] had their results altered in the EU version to give you a good ending. The stuff censored in the game is akin to the fates of the bosses you fight in Bravely Default during the early game.

That's all I want to say in case there's people here who don't want spoilers. For those who do, the GamerGate thread [in this section] has more info on page 264. You can also probably look it up online.

No, I know there's both, it's the WHEN more than anything (which I know now as well). I wanted to side with our lecherous friend, but I decided against it.

I've heard the censoring is most egregious in the Black Mage one.

How early is chapter 5 in terms of gameplay? it wasn't tons late in BD, I'm just wondering how long I'll be waiting If I choose classes I don' want for story reasons.

Mostly because berserk.

P.s cat puns. Too many. Help meowt here.

There are six chapters total. Chapter 5 is indeed as you expect, but Chapter 6 is a proper follow-up. So at the very least, you should assume Chapter 5 will come at the same time as it did last time, sort of-ish.

Ok, here's a tip for BS grinding if you're some sort of no-fun monster like me.

As soon as you get the town to rebuild, immediately ( or asap) level the special move parts (recovery) shop to max, and then the trigger shop 'till you get brave.

Then, if you want it to be flawless, you'll need a support ability you get from Astrologist (spoilers?) to prevent enemies getting a turn before you, though this is possible without it, just not forever.

So long as you can kill the enemy teams in 3 attacks (the 4th is to special) the loop will never end- all the braves your team does nets you the BP you need to continue.

Uh, in theory. I could be wrong. Might not be able to brave enough.

I'm going to turn off exp gain because even when battling normally you'd end up with too many levels. I'll turn it on later.

Edit: it's the Delta parts one, forgive my stupidity. Delta's the symbol that looks a little like a bomb.

Heh.. I'm playing this game now. (played it and got nearly to the end before, but my 3ds died and I formatted the memory card for my psp) Anyways, the first 3/4 of this game are amazing, but it turns to repetitive shit near the end to artificially extend the length of the game. Haven't played the second game yet.

Bravely Default II has been announced.

It's a very odd naming convention, to say the least. It's the third game in the series, yet it's being billed as a 'sequel' to Bravely Default - which is what Bravely Second is.

Going by that line of dialogue from Ringabel at the end of Bravely Second, I would assume it has something to do with that "Sword of The Brave"/"Third Key" and the Dimensional Bureau. Alternatively, it could just be a new story entirely unrelated to the past two games, which would be somewhat disappointing.

Understandable though, given that the end of Bravely Second is a cosmic evil trying to break into the Real World (yes, ours..really) to destroy our reality. I am not sure how you can ramp up the Crazy factor from that.

So I see we're going for the 'absolute nonsense' brand of sequel naming then. O-kay.

Bravely second was like final fantasy X-2, default is like XI with different universe and characters.

They're simply gonna call the fifth installment "Brave". I can see why they did it; the sequel looks like generic weeb Japan trash, and I actually thought Bravely Default had a decent time in the west. It looks off-brand compared.

Necroing the thread since BD2 came out. I'm thinking of buying it but its average review scores look like a red flag considering how usually Nintendo products get a lot of shilling.

If you liked BD1 and Bravely Second you will be okay with this.

It doesn't fix my biggest complaints about the series and they decided that every class skill needs to have mobs that trigger counter attacks.

I tried it as a newcomer to the series and the opening chapter is so bland that it's kind of cringe worthy. I kind of regret buying it.

Was re-watching the "false" ending of Bravely Default and this meme came to mind. Obviously spoilers if you haven't gotten to the end of the first one.
