Every time there's a new social-political movement that pops up on the Internet, the grifters always come in to try to capitalize on the biggest idiots that they can find. Back when New Atheism was a thing, Richard Dawkins was seen as the face of the online atheist movement where many atheists would quote him and shill for him a lot until New Atheism collapsed by the start of the 2010's per se.

Most people in the Atheist community now see Richard Dawkins the same way most on the Right see Richard Spencer because they're both grifters of their own respective communities and their own communities don't like them anymore. No. It was pretty clear to everyone Wilson wanted to enter the war on the Entente side because of his British sympathies. Wilson was pushed into the war though because Wall Street bet hard on the Entente. John Morgan Jr. was a massive anglophile like his father, and pushed basically all the banks and business interests in the US to side with the Entente. The influence was strong enough that the founder and CEO of Goldman Sachs got pushed out of his own company by the board because he sympathized with the central powers as a person of german jewish descent.
Wilson and Wall Street knew well that if the Entente lost, it would mean massive economic losses for the US, while a entente victory would lead to a economic boom.

I don't agree with a lot of Wilson's policy decisions, but he was quite often a victim of circumstance.
