Well in answer to the person above who I can't seem to quote for some reason while I thank you for your response, as stated, this is unrelated to question at hand albeit a fairly rhetorical question.
I have not questioned the US constitution nor any particular amendment not limited to the right to bear arms.
I have questioned the political stance of escalation regarding it more specifically the idea that if more people have guns that will in due course result in less deaths. As opposed to simply more guns before we take into account the literal things your average firearms are designed to do. Even if we accept the fairly obvious inference that of course the vast majority of those that commit crimes are in fact lawless criminals none of this answers the actual question posed.
Fear is the most powerful motivator and the sole motivation of the enslaved. Owning a gun does not make one inherently fearless. In fact this would seem to be the main motivation posed in said instance for owning one. It is not a question I would not expect any answer to be posed that would accomplish anything material rather any material accomplishment to be the consideration thereof moving forward.
Which incidentally is the practical substance of a rhetorical question but I digress.
