There are a few other threads that are/were positive like from what I can tell Metokur’s thread is majority positive and Tamers produces so much kino that his thread got moved to Multimedia.

I dunno, the reason Chugga getting cancelled is such a big deal is that despite being an autistic manchild Nintendo Youtuber, the guy's not really a drama magnet.
The thread would just turn into "Emile makes a light comment in support of troons here" or "Emile makes a healthcare joke there." Not trying to whiteknight the guy but it's not really all that interesting, you'd have to expand the topic into his general sphere of friends/snakes to even have it last more than 10 pages.
The only two other "big" things I can think of were him pissing off the Xenoblade 2 fanbase with his retarded takes on some parts of the game (Trans Nia being the most famous one), and the ancient fanart controversy from his Mother 3 LP.

No one is defending what he did. People are saying there's a difference between those chat logs and learning Bill Clinton liked em young. Most are actually being careful because you never know if more will come out. But as it stands, this was not the same as trying to or desiring to have sex with a child. Also, preemptively insulting everyone is never a great tactic to change minds or make a point.

Tim saying that he's distancing himself from Emile publicly is the telltale sign that things are over. But the fact the two are going to stay friends privately really shows that Tim is the real MVP here. I hope at least a few others do the same and stay friends with Emile for his sake.

Going to be honest, I've been on this website for a few years now and this might be one of the saddest things I've seen. Emile isn't a monster. He didn't pull a ProJared or the Completionist. He wasn't a piece of shit with a prank channel or do anything that landed him a thread on this site like so many others have. He was a guy who loved video games who not only spent hours upon hours researching everything about the game he was playing to share, but he created TRG to play video games with friends, he created Thrown Controllers a game show about video games, he created Runaway Guy Colosseum to not only raise money for charity by playing video games for three days but also to use as an excuse to hang out with friends who share the same love of video games he does.

And yet not a single one of those friends, save one, defended him. For what? Cringe foot role play and a rape joke from 10+ years ago? That shit deserves to be laughed at, not ruin his entire career.

I really hope this isn't the end for Emile. Whether it takes several months or several years hopefully he will return. I know I at least will be waiting.

Real talk though, I'd like to thank pretty much everyone in this thread for having more than two brain cells. You really showed why this site is necessary as I checked a couple of other places and that was a fucking mistake. I know that Null is currently working on gathering funds for the lawsuit right now. I was thinking about donating, but not only am I 100% going to now, I'm going to double what I was planning to give. Because if this is all it takes to ruin someone's career nowadays, while we all know full well that these same people will defend those who have done so much worse shit, then fuck it, I'm going to start throwing money around to protect the things I enjoy.

i find it interesting how projared did way worse than chugga and there is actual proof behind it as well but he is still allowed to exist online but chugga is apparently super epstein and must be purged. it really just shows you how bad things have gotten since the jared stuff even apologizing isnt good enough anymore. they want you gone entirely.
 
The only thing that would push me over the edge with this is if it comes out that people like Jon haven't liked Emile for 10+ years. A lot of these guys have been able to keep their careers in content creation by staying within Emile's sphere of influence. They were either extremely stagnant in growth (Like Emile was for a few years up until this whole shitshow) or couldn't hold an audience. Chuggaaconroy helped lay a ton of groundwork for how the LP style of gameplay with commentary operated and he doesn't really see much of the credit for that nowadays.
Yes, that chatlog with Lawley was most definitely a bombshell for everyone but I refuse to believe that everyone in Emile's inner circle, especially Jon, didn't understand that this is how he unfortunately is concerning Masae's and "Emily's" statements. The weird obsession with feet and hyperfixation on shoes, the severe lack of social cues, the slight creepyness around women he's interested in...the whole kit n kaboodle. Part of it did feel like some of their reactions to this controversy were to cut that fat off. For most of them, Emile's annoyance more heavily outweighed his usefulness.
Oh well. At least now I know who to avoid from now on.

Possibly figuring out the business side of things, to be fair. I have no idea how arrangements were set up for The Runaway Guys; if it's only ever been handled over a smoke and a handshake then they're probably just weighing up public opinion on what to do and when, but if they had any kind of contracts written out for things like revenue share, residuals etc. then it might be genuinely difficult to replace him or continue the channel without him.

I hadn't considered this but you might have a point. So much of this drama seems to stem from these people being unable to just sit down and talk to him about whatever they're not happy about like adults, and have instead just waited for public opinion to go against him then retroactively reframed past interactions in the least charitable way possible. It's cowardly and dishonest.

The RP shit with the shoes is just him being autistic and not realising, but Masae/Antdude etc. pulling a "well I haven't liked him lately either" would probably have caught normal people off-guard too. He's not a fucking mindreader, if you don't tell him there's a problem and let him keep doing whatever he's doing unchallenged he's naturally going to assume you're cool with it.

The thread should be called, the Let's Play Community Watch or Classic Let's Play Community Watch or something along those lines.

Even if some main figures are clean like NintendoCaprisun, I think at this point the community itself can have a lot of milk to gather from. From the modern zoomer fans to the oldfag autists who've been religiously watching them since the old days.

This way we can track what the main figures and their circle are doing while also posting any coal that comes from the fanbase.

There was really nothing that was off-limits to joke about, and a lot of very young deviantART/xanga/gaia girls would adopt that language without ever intending it in a sexual or edgy way. People communicated in cat noises and sO rAnDoM brinkmanship to prove their awkward credentials. It was just how it was, and more people were pseudonymous enough that age/gender/race had nothing to do with how people talked to each other. What a time capsule.
