Yesterday, Ian Danskin (Innuendo Studios) disabled new donations to his GoFundMe after breaking $150K.

Is it popular in leftoid circles to not capitalize the first word in a sentence, even in formal settings? I've noticed Hasan Piker does the same thing. Ian still capitalizes 'I,' though. Pick a lane, loser!

It's probably going to break $150K. Absolute madness.

He finally shut it off.
ok, um, donations closed after an incomprehensible outpouring of support. thank you, everyone! I am in shock! more importantly, I'm about to be debt-free! I don't know what any of this means for the future or for my career. my brain is not built to fathom this! I will let you know when I figure it out.
Very little self-reflection in there. I don't know how GoFundMe pays out, I'm sure they take a cut before the taxman comes along once again to finally collect. 'Debt-free' might be very optimistic considering the remaining credit card debt and the outcome of that 2019 'audit', which seems unlikely to go his way considering his history with not paying taxes.

Then he makes it even worse with a comment:
I feel like I should say "here's the plan," but I don't have one yet. it's gonna take a while before I can comprehend this. I was up til 1am last night because some part of my brain said "you have to figure out what to do with all this" and I couldn't. I don't know how to work on this scale. I could only think, uh, I guess I could get my bike tuned up? I could buy Blue Prince without waiting for a sale? I could get some nicer pants?

for now, I'm going to just try and breathe easy for a bit. I'm closing donations; I thought "I should announce I'm closing donations a few hours before I do so people can hop on if they want," but... why? I'm already so far over target I don't know what to do with it. I don't need to optimize. it's more than enough already.
Zero lessons learned I guess. I can extend grace to people who are bad with money and get in a bad situation, it happens. But this is different, this guy is not bad with money he's actively malicious. What sort of person fleeces their own family for 10k (which is probably barely enough to cover any interest, it's just a stall tactic) and STILL doesn't make changes? Even after that, when family members finally say enough is enough we won't give you money anymore, he doesn't learn and just turns around the grift to his audience. Disgusting.

After this kind of desperate last minute bail-out, even the most mediocre person would immediately start making sure this shit never happens again by spending the next few weeks cutting down on expenses, finding a job, move to a cheaper location, reflect and try to learn from mistakes, anything. Yet all he can think about all night is buying more stupid video games that are popular in his circle and tinkering with his bike. This just smells of extreme narcissism, this whole feedback loop just confirms to him that he did nothing wrong in the first place, he was right to beg his audience for money and he doesn't have to make any changes to how he acts, how he manages his youtube channel or the way he lives his life in general.

This guy is terrible but I'm actually even more annoyed by all the people who enable him. None of them point out that this shit doesn't happen if you just pay your taxes. Aren't leftists supposed to be big on that?

A normal person would write all that and end with "but that's exactly how I ended up in this position in the first place, so I'm putting it all into the bank and paying off my bills". He's very lucky that the Breadtube audience doesn't care about where the donations actually go. He's basically insulting everyone who gave money.

Whenever there's a charity stream (like that Lady Emily one today) you always see a few $20 donations and people saying that they have no money but are giving fifty bucks. Emily's already 59% to the goal of being paid to move to Canada.

155,127 - 30% = 108588.9
It's like he kept it open for just long enough to make sure he breaks 100k after paying tax on it.

I hope the fact he's not even hiding the fact he'll be spending what's left on material shit he doesn't need fills the people who donated with a sense of dread. He tries to make the fact he closed it at all an act of humility, when he admits in the same sentence he considered keeping it open for longer but announce its closure in order to squeeze in more donations. We know he was awake once the goal was met since he was arguing with retards from Sharty on bluesky. He only closed the fundraiser because the donations had slowed to a stop anyway. Yesterday he earned 4k in donations, contrast to the tens of thousands he was receiving in the days prior.

And because of the fact that this guy gets lauded so much for his 'writing', it bothers me that he used the semi-colon incorrectly in the second paragraph of his second comment; semi-colons are used to join two independent but closely related clauses, not to serve the function of a colon, comma, or hyphen.

Decent vid from Harmful Opinions. Ian did freelance consultation work on fundraisers at some point, arguing that the most important part of selling one is that you appear sincere. He really did get his audience to fall hook line and sinker for his e-begging.

Guys is it hard to make $14,000 a year when you live in Boston and have nearly infinite free time

I have no idea how nobody either with or against Danskin remembers when James Somerton cried poor two years ago, threatening to shut his channel down if he didn't immediately get more Patreon money. And then it turned out the reason he did that is because he was taking his anger towards getting called an incel on Twitter and inflicting it on his Youtube viewerbase.

EDIT: I THOUGHT I WAS JOKING!!!IMG_0481.webp

You know what? I got a great idea for a reality show. If I ever take power, I'm gonna throw all of the useless political talkers on a island. And they're each going to be given a cash for weapons. Last man standing gets a position in the new regime.

What's irritating about YouTube's algorithm is that I keep fucking get recommended CommieTube "creators" (all of whom have the same god damn talking points). And they're almost always in the same fucking spaces I'm in - so basically they take an apolitical subject and throw political faggotry in it. I look up their name and/or I click their vid and get recommended vids by the usual suspect of faggot white leftists. I check the Farms and about 75% of the time their names appear in this damn thread.

How do you all alog these fucks without wanting to reach across the screen and slap them for being retarded?

I realized that in a communist revolution, comed we would push these Betty Bolsheviks against the wall and shoot them for the revolution combat because they are engaging in Counter Revolutionary ideology.
I also realized these people won't do anything.

You're more likely to get a white revolution as the solution than these people getting out there ass

Make sure you delete shit you don’t want from your watch history, otherwise the algorithm will keep giving you shit you don’t want.

Even the dislike button won’t help.

You fix this by turning off your Youtube watch history or when you see the video, you press the 3 dots beside it and click "don't recommend channel".

I've tried - it only removes THAT channel, but I still get recommended commies if the channel I'm watching is a normie. I appreciate the help though.
I don't know what I've done personally to get my recommended videos/channels in the state it's in.
I got recommended this banger of a vid. Fewer than 10k views too.

Maybe because I've left likes on videos? Or I've rewatched particular videos? I know places like twitter and Instagram will also feed you content if it's been on your screen for longer, so maybe holding your mouse over a thumbnail or even clicking on such videos is helping to clog your feed with shit? I don't know everything they take account of when deciding what content you might like watching but pay consideration to every variable. Maybe they'll go away if you actually ignore it?

Another thing I've done is I've doomscrolled through shorts once or twice, so I think leaving some likes there has lead to Youtube recommending me shit that might actually cater to my interests? I don't think they'd ever organically recommend any politically right-wing content (unless it's culture war, gaming oriented like Asmongold, not stuff that matters more) but you could stop getting left-wing content. So yeah, I'd recommend leaving more likes on videos, even if you don't necessarily 'like' it, but if it engages you for a moment, makes you chortle, or is vaguely interesting, it lets youtube know you want more stuff like that and not commiewank. If you have videos in your favourites with no likes on them, that'd be a good place to start.
