Here's what I wrote in the ContraPoints thread about Oliver's trooning out, I too think it has to do with the lockdown in the UK driving him crazy:

I think this is why he was starting to lose his mind during the lockdown and decided to slowly increasingly feminize. Oliver has said repeatedly during Livestreams that he views Youtube as a job and that his real interest and passion is becoming a stage actor, not an e-celeb. When he was involved with IRL theatre, he had a regular distraction from the internet. Unlike Nyk who spends his whole life online immerse in online TRA culture, Oliver had to attend screentests, he had to memorize screenplays, he had go to the gym to stay fit as an actor, when he got the part he had to rehearse (ie, he regularly came into contact with people who had nothing whatsoever to do with online SJW TRA culture), he had to perform onstage, he was involvede in all these IRL activities that took him away from the internet. All those "distractions", which anchored him IRL are gone now with the pandemic. He can't go on stage right now because they have a hard lockdown in the UK (due to that new strain of Covid-19 that is more contagious), so he's slowly going crazy because he's losing performance skills that he's going to have to build up after the pandemic, and the theatre scene will be a completely different scene by then. Companies, theatres, God forbid even actors, will be gone and funding will be tight, because culture is never a priority when it comes to rebuilding a wrecked economy. Oliver knows this, and to him it must be like watching his dream of being a stage actor being taken away from him, so he's reduced to being a Youtuber, what to him was his "day job". The trooning out/feminizing is part of his resignation to his fate.
