It's essentially a relevancy trump card, he can say it anytime he wants for asspats, but he can only really do it once.

If she did so a lot of Wu's narrative would collapse. Each time someone sneezes, Wu claims that she has in-depth knowledge on how difficult it is to be "a woman in tech". So if she jumps out of her closet, these claims would be proven to be false (at least to some extent). I also guess that more people would start looking for who she was before her transition. In this case the name John W. Flynt would come up and all the trails it left over the internet.

In the end, if Wu tries to play her transgender status a "stay relevant trump card", it could result in a journalist interviewing Briannas parents about her past life...

...and that would be literally "the beginning of the end".

So if Wu plays that card, she is admitting that she is out of options to stay relevant.

Untrue. The choir that she preaches to considers transwomen to be women. None of them are going to say that she, as a transwoman who is ostensibly in the tech industry, hasn't experienced the life of a woman in tech in the tech industry.

That is a possibility. SJW do tend to wear blinders, but they also tend to cannibalize themselves.
I guess it could be a 50/50 thing (although I hope that I am correct), but no matter how it goes, the resulting fallout will demand a lot of salty popcorn.

True. Plus, any part of the audience that has even an iota of sense already knows Wu is a tranny and is just playing along for the sake of political correctness. There are a couple genuine morons who don't, but nothing will help them, not even if Wu comes out as a serial child molester.

The bigger problems will be the history that comes with the John Flynt name. It dispels her claim to have grown up with modest means, not least of all because of the $200,000 her parents dumped on him so he could start an abortive animation company, which was shit. There are many other accounts floating around of the largesse of his parents - buying Johnny boy a constant stream of tech goodies. Also, Flynt's history is better documented than Wu's, which makes sense considering Wu as a character appeared in her adulthood. It's clear to see that Flynt never held down a job that could justify Wu's repeated claims to expertise in tech, and the college records show that Flynt never graduated. Flynt's past is not flattering of Wu.

While this probably won't affect her grass roots support, it will make her increasingly risky to associate with in any highly visible capacity. Look at people like Nyberg and Harper. The latter still pulls in $4.7k via Patreon, despite having a long history of being a dishonest bully. Nyberg is a paedophile, with evidence that it distributed child pornography of a young relative. They retain support, but you won't see Sarkeesian or Quinn calling them up to public panels or trips to the UN. Anyone outside of the circle jerk will very quickly realise that Wu is both a liar and a mental man.
