ah,, "consultant" - code for doesn't do anything
I mean consult with whom? It's John and Frank and they are 0 for 2

Hey John...what do you think of this?
Well, I don't know John...we'd better call in John for high priced advice!

John! this is John, we are working...get it?,...working. Anyway, we're working onhow to lose another election but still get the money

It’s like Sméagol and Gollum, but somehow even more grotesque.

Saw this in a neighboring thread and the idea seems awfully familiar.

The author even looks a bit like Wu(or what would be Wu's realistic dream goal).

The post this comes from:
I (illegally) downloaded Ellen Ullman's book Life in Code: A Personal History of Technology. It's a self-indulgent pile of shit. Most of her anecdotes appear apocryphal. She provides a narrative of her attempt to install Slackware Linux. Ellen confirms that reading about installing Slackware Linux is more tedious than installing Slackware Linux.

Ellen boasts about her technical prowess, but she doesn't understand the difference between microcode and machine language:

Gjt8tDsHGg_ellen.png

Ellen has much unresolved animus towards her former—mostly male—colleagues. I wonder if denigrating them in her spiteful book gave her the intended abreaction to enable her to let go of a fifty-year-old grudge.

I stopped reading at page 61 of 208.

Google "Brianna Wu" (must use quotes) together with Ellen Ullman and you'll see a bunch of pseudo-academic nonsense that at least I was not aware of.

The first result for me was a link to "Must read books for women in tech" which has a picture of a woman on a laptop with books on compiler design, C++, Java, etc. But the actual list is bullshit like the book John contributed to. I once asked a female software dev if she wanted to go to the Grace Hopper conference, and she replied that it's just a bunch of "yay women" nonsense and any talks that actually had technical content were too short and shallow to be useful. It's better to go to a "man's conference" because you will actually learn something.

It will be interesting to see the next FEC filing for Wu's scam pac and the Progressive Victory pac. You have Wu's pac, which brings in a lot more than PV, yet Wu joined PV just to make them pay streamers to have him on. On the other hand, Wu's pac consistently loses money due to his grifting and has fuck-all to show for it, and PV is actually saving money - at least before Wu stepped in to provide "consulting."

And just a random observation, but Wu is doing a lot of cheerleading for Israel and Ukraine. In the past his political focus has been on troon rights and climate change, but apparently his only goal for 2024 is to get Biden elected so the US can continue to give lots of money to Ukraine and Israel. I guess he realized the types of people who support Israel have more money and influence than the alphabet identifiers and other groups who are now struggling with their own grifts.

kinda says it all that they are supposed to be scattered like they are being referenced ,but they are oriented for the camera and upside-down to the owner of the vaguely ethnic mocha hands designing her own compiler

If you're a "woman in tech" and you're reading this basic ass shit as an adult well into your career you're already lost anyway.

I'm not saying that some of these books aren't important and don't have valuable things in them, but not in the usage an article like that would posit. A woman (or man) going home to cram Java from a textbook is unlikely to ever get anywhere where they'll be using Java as a trusted part of some team. Lots of dudes they see and envy may have these books but it's for reference, they probably didn't build their fundamentals from it. They'll pull out Compiler Design when they need to look for some specific problem that the book might have an answer to, they aren't going to do any project by working through the textbook, if they read it in the past they aren't going to remember the specifics or details of anything.

This isn't a computer science thing either, it's basically every field. Part of being an "expert" like a professor is knowing where to look when you need it, not cramming and memorizing a bunch of shit you'll never use.

True, and even as a reference you're better off with tech blogs and online documentation. But the point is that women and people like John sabotage the industry by making women think the actual technical knowledge is secondary to "skills" like identifying bias. I say industry because it's basic affirmative action where you encourage a group to be inferior and then hire them anyway, which brings everyone down. I read that men are trying to get into these women's conferences, which is completely retarded. Even recruiters are not stupid enough to look at a guy and think, "oh, I should definitely hire this obvious man who couldn't get a job based on his merits over an actual woman who is going to raise our DEI numbers."

Speaking of worthless skills, I saw John was the aptly named "Twit" and put his bio as "Executive Director, Rebellion Pac - Princess peach speedrunner". He also mentioned how he is the number 2 princess peach speedrunner in the world in a recent stream. Only someone as useless as John would think that was an actual career accomplishment.

And finally, I got confirmation that the Israel arc is definitely the latest grift strategy. He was on a stream called Counterfire to celebrate the firing of Candace Owens, and explicitly stated that Jews are known for giving money to organizations who help Jews, and even recommended that Candace start her own pac (anti-jew of course, can't have competition). He also makes a lot of comments about how he didn't care about Jews until October 7, which is ostensibly when he saw all the Jews pulling money from colleges and groups claiming support for Palestine, and decided he should be the next beneficiary.

Edit - for as much as John brings up the gamergate playbook, he is currently using the exact same tactics he did in gamergate. Force his way into a controversy, vociferously defend his side, constantly bemoan the harassment he's getting, fish for agreement on his unique and necessary self-sacrifice, and then, profit. After they throw money at his pac (him), the Jews are sure to write him into the Bible next to Moses for his contributions to the Jewish faith.

Oh and one more edit - in the counterfire stream, the Diddy debacle comes up. John's reaction to the abuse/assault charges is laughter, followed by a cheer for Diddy's progressive interest in transgirls. The context is that Candace is criticizing the sex and violence in hip-hop, and John disagrees because he personally likes it and it makes him cool.

Yet again, a white man talking over a woman of color because he paternalistically knows better than a woman of color what her issues are.

Hah, oh man, he's still using that lie? I guess technically a half-truth, but there are so many caveats it's basically a lie. In case you missed it or forgot, here's a refresher:

John had a brief period a few years ago where he decided to follow in the footsteps of many of his troon brethren and become a speedrunner. His game of choice was Super Mario Bros. 2, solely because you can choose to play through the entire game as Peach, and that appeals to a skinwalker like John. In fact, there are leaderboards on Speedrun.com for doing a full run with a single character, though these categories aren't run as frequently. Remember this, it will come up later.

Another thing to note is that there are a couple different versions of SMB2. It was rereleased on the SNES as part of the Super Mario All-Stars compilation, with updated graphics and some other minor alterations. It was then rereleased a second time on the GBA as Super Mario Advance, again with minor changes. The All-Stars version is run less frequently than the original, and SMA is run even less frequently. These facts are also important.

So John first attempted to top the leaderboards at SMB2 about four years ago. He went and bought a Super Famicom and all the other equipment he needed (with Frank's money), even streamed himself making attempts to an audience of basically nobody. Naturally, he also went for the All-Stars version because there was less competition so he had a better chance of placing higher on the leaderboard. His best time put him at seventh place in this very specific category at the time, and he even left a comment saying he intended on breaking into the top five.

But now? Well...
1711656343558.png
He's dropped to sixteenth and hasn't posted another run in the game since.

There was a brief period where he speedran RE3make, though on the easiest difficulty and on PS5 so he could brag about having the fastest time on the shiny new console that plebs couldn't afford, although he didn't even hold that title for more than two weeks before someone else beat him.

Getting back to Mario, he then turned his attention to the much less frequently run SMA (as of this post, only 133 full game runs compared to SMB2's 2032). To his dismay, this game didn't also have the numerous subcategories for running the game with only a single character. How was he going to top the leaderboards if the leaderboards didn't exist? He complained about this on the forum, to which the SMA mod replied that there wasn't much point if nobody was running them. After John posted his run, he acquiesced to the demand and added those categories.

(Note that John's profile pic is a drawing of SMB2 Peach that he creepily gushed about to the original artist.)

So John got his wish, he got to be number one at the hyper specific category of the GBA version of SMB2, while only using Peach and with saving. He then followed it up with a second run without saving the next day. Finally, John had irrefutable proof that he was indeed a real gamer girl!

And then, ten days after his first run, and just a day after he posted a better time, the exact same mod that put the leaderboards up for him beat his time in the former category by 24 seconds. John took nearly a full month of practicing to claw back the number one spot by being five seconds faster, and then not even a week later, the mod trounced him by nearly a full minute. John didn't make another attempt after this.

This is the entirety of the leaderboard for this category, by the way. The mod was correct, nobody runs these categories. All the others have only a single entry in each by people that probably just wanted to snag an easy first place. One guy submitted a run for each of the no save-and-quit categories, including the Peach one, but his time wasn't fast enough to dethrone John. (He even left a cheeky note on the other characters: "Hope I land #1!")
1711657534382.png
John has not speedrun anything since then. I think the embarrassment of losing a title he believed that no one would ever try to take away from him made him not want to do it anymore, and he doesn't want to actually try and compete at something he doesn't think he can win by default.

So to summarize: John is not "the number two Princess Peach speedrunner in the world." He is in fact one of only two people that have bothered to speedrun a much less popular version of SMB2, a very specific category of speedruns no less, and even after begging to have a leaderboard made specifically for him, he still lost the crown. His best time wouldn't even crack top 10 in the respective category in All-Stars (and only barely in original SMB2), and it pales in comparison to the much more popular "use any character" runs. It's an embarrassing thing to brag about, like winning the Special Olympics. Yeah, you won, but you're still retarded.

To wrap this up with something else amusing, a reminder that Revolution 60 has a leaderboard on Speedrun.com, managed by none other than EmptyHero/SmegmaKing, who has thus far posted the one and only run:

To add onto this, at literally no point has he ever told the actual truth about his status, usually by Omission. Back when he was the 7th Fastest Peach for the All stars Peach Save and Quit Category and called himself the 7th fastest peach, there were not only 6 other people faster in the same category, but also like 5 people faster in the NES version as well. Even at his absolute best, he's never been above middle of the pack.

I guess there's a new Princess Peach game coming out which is why he's promoting his speedrun status. It's funny that this is the only so-called accomplishment he has where there is any proof of it, and even that only proves that everyone else on the planet thinks it's too much of a waste of time to bother.
Let's look at all the stuff he consistently brags about:
  • Racing cars and motorcycles - no track times, no pictures of him driving
  • Restoring porsches - only pictures of some stupid apple shit he had installed
  • Fixing pinballs - only humiliating pictures of frank standing next to them
  • Working 80 hours a week - just check rebellionpac.com
  • Running 10 miles a day - he disproves this himself with his perpetual claims of injury
  • Cooking - as long as all the ingredients are pre-measured and shipped to him
  • Playing an ancient video game repeatedly for many, many hours - ding ding, we have a winner!

Thank you, I didn't make that clear enough. To give a full picture, John's fastest time on any of his runs is the 9:37 run he posted for SMA. Out of all Peach only runs (NES, SNES, GBA), there are eighteen runs faster than his, so if lumped all together, he barely squeaks into the top 20. Out of all runs, however, there are 210 faster, and that's not including obsolete runs that people improved their times on.

Speedrunning is pretty autistic, but I find it retarded when someone runs a game nobody plays or comes up with some specific category so they can claim first by default. Except of course for the aforementioned Rev60 run because it's hilarious that EmptyHero made that whole page solely to ensure his stream making fun of the game would be enshrined on one of John's hangouts. God bless the autist mod that beat John's time and put him in his place.
