I was always confused as to why anyone would publicly out themselves as trans, at least in online spaces before anyone else outs you. You want to be seen as a woman, yet you're disclosing your male sex to the world, the one part that will cause everyone to see and identify you as your original gender.

Simply demanding that people use different pronouns is only going to change their perception, insofar as that it conveys that you're mentally anguished by your sex.
