Call me obsessed, but a single point resounds in my mind whenever John starts banging the game designer drum: Toby Fox had himself, an artist, a copy of Gamemaker and a can of coke, and whether you like Undertale or not, Undertale can be called a game without your gag reflex going off. Brianna had a WHOLE GODDAMN STUDIO of competant developers, voice actors (who doubled as writers), Unreal Engine, and all the Soylent she could choke down, and still manages to fuck up to the point that Rev60 is listed on TvTropes's Game Breaking Bug page (and likely has no other listings, nor does it have a main page of its own).
Every day, their are devs doing more with less while Bri continues to do nothing with more. In a way, i pity her. No one i know has reached that level of failure. Even the most dismal of failures have something in there that say the creator put their heart into it. Not Rev60. Not anything Wu does. There's no spark, no soul, every thing she does is just dead air.
Better example would be Eric Barone. He was the Programmer, Designer, Artist, and Composer of Stardew Valley. Worked on the game ten hours a day for four years and made over £11 million in two months before you take away publisher fees. (So still walked away with at least half that, and that's being generous to the publishers).
The problem Wu has is... frankly, money. She's never had a "near zero" start point in order to realise that it's a massive fucking mountain to climb and you need that ability to sniff out a niche that might work. Time and again she's tried to make stuff like Rev 60, Election Eve, Socially Unconscious characters work without sniffing out that niche. Even if you do suspect there's a niche there's still a pretty massive chance of failure.
The same can be said of Wu's Congress run. If she was sensible or serious about congress she'd run for MA's house first because that's actually where all the nuts and bolts per state works. She could change things in MA and then be able to "lead by example" with an actual congress run in say, ten-fifteen years after learning how the system works better.
Sensibly she'd run on the lists for somewhere like Barnstaple County or Hampshire County which have a decent, more friendly attitude to LGBT citizens and thus a voter bloc she could more easily exploit and rally out during an election.
But this wouldn't be enough for John's ego.
"Sarcastic and relatable" gee what a revolutionary personality choice for a female superheroine who kicks everyone's ass.

Also, the encroachment of middle-age, where, even in a relaxed culture, a fortysomething woman flouncing around conventions and pinballing between careers is less "You go, girl," and more "Settle the fuck down."I think Brianna is at a difficult phase of her life. John spent so many years wanting to be Brianna, the motorcycle-riding, hardcore techno-badass and he finally came within arm's reach, only to be denied by a combination of bad timing, misplaced loyalties and his own blinding stupidity.
Sorry to disagree, but you're just wrong about John having no vision. He does indeed have a vision, a driving idea, and Rev. 60 was in fact a passion project. One need only realize that these characters have existed, in some iteration or other, for almost 20 years....and that's assuming John wasn't doodling them in high school. Why the hell didn't i think of Stardew Valley, i love that game...
But yeah, there's our point exactly. People with vision who start from near nothing and make themselves into legends by what they build. The thing is, they built it. They carefully crafted it into their vision. Everything John does is slapped together with almost no thought about the end result. The political campaign proves he can't see the end, he has no vision. "What will i do if elected? Gamergate! Misogyny!" No mention about what they'll do for average Joe and Jane walking down Main Street, no mention what he plans to build.
I firmly believe humanity's purpose is to build and create, and it's plain as day that there ain't no blueprints on Johnny's table.
Frank will do all the grunt work and then Frank will pay others to do the rest. Brianna will sit around tweeting and playing video games.
Frank ain't doing shit but pay the bills.
