A "HUGE portion of engineering and computer science majors."

Aside from sounding exactly like something Donald Trump would say, what does that mean in the real world?

Well, it means that 16 students graduated from Smith College in 2017 with computer science degrees. And about 30 graduated with engineering degrees, with that 30 including an undisclosed number who received B.A.s in engineering, a degree offered for those "who do not intend to pursue professional practice as engineers." The engineering and computer science faculty includes all of 20 people, several of whom are men. The English department, on the other hand, has 44 faculty members. The art department has 36.

Engineering and computer science at Smith College don't sound all that "HUGE" to me. In fact, they sound insignificant.

The entire engineering class of 2017 is about 32 students. The total class was about 600, or roughly 5% engineers.
EDIT: and there are at least 18 CS majors, which would make the total "women in tech" a whopping 8%.

Not to mention the fact that it's really kind of insulting. Women are so cowardly and weak that they don't dare speak up in the presence of what would mostly be socially awkward nerds? That's like saying you can't speak in public because the evil crowd is sabotaging you.

I try keep her up to date on what happens on my "cyberbully sites" as she calls them, especially when there is some crossover into real life. Anyone else notice how she's saying "if I'm elected" the last week or so compared to "when I'm elected" the first few months of her campaign. I think she's finally seeing that there's almost zero chance she will be able to win. If you search Brianna Wu on twitter and sort by most popular tweets, it's about 80% just her getting trolled by parity accounts or right wing political names. As much as she thought her large twitter following would be a huge boost to get her message out and prop her up, it has been nothing but a huge publicity fail all around which has led to multiple articles making fun of him which reached a much further audience than any of her progressive bullshit.
