This is 100% real and 100% not fabricated in Brianna’s usual attempts to go viral. She is definitely not making up Jeff Job’s letter so that she can be a hero for the disenfranchised and have an easier time getting on the ballot.

I repeat, this is totally not one of Brianna’s many proven hoaxes.

That dude is not exactly wrong though, it's the same in Manchester, they even know to hang around the universities as dumbfuck leftie students always put hand in pocket even though the council specifically tells you to ignore them completely as giving them money or food just exacerbates the problem.

But seriously, for the price of her Porsche, she probably could have found a way to pay for the signatures to get on the ballot to begin with. Did Frank veto that idea (yet not the Porsche?) yet not the Porsche?
Frank seems to like cars too. Remember, he bought that Dodge Challenger for himself. He probably didn't need a huge amount of convincing to make the Porsche his next Shut-John-Up.

Why champion of the common man Brianna Wu needs a status symbol to differentiate themselves from the working class they supposedly represent, on the other hand, is beyond me.

I understand why the narcissistic, privileged manchild John does this, but I can never get over how badly he does it. He gets two lemons in a row, says shit online that makes it obvious, overpays for one of Porsche's weakest offerings, immediately wrecks it, and then transparently lies about having wrecked it. Any less stupid person would be humiliated and embarrassed by such ineptitude. But not John.

That's why muggers and the like also congregate around universities. They know they're full of soft naive white kids with lots of nice shit, and they can pretty much just walk up to them and take their shit without much chance of resistance.

remember kids leave the letter writing to the profeshnulls

Good. I was going to do this sooner, but decided it would be better to wait until it was already scheduled for a time and place. First, I didn't want to waste Disney's time with a probable non-event, and second, I didn't want John to have a chance to back out without cost.

Wu sympathizers with beggars because he is one too

But a brand new 2018 Dodge Challenger is about $30,000 according to a quick search. Buying a used Porsche (with oil and other issues, seems like a sketchy car) from a Jeep dealership is $40,000. We can assume JWF got a bit greedy and Frank a bit stupider than usual. But even 10K would put you well on the path to getting the signatures needed to be on the ballot against that tranny killer Lynch.

The whole thing makes you wonder what would happen if Brianna Wu were a sane, competent individual with the same media exposure, and access to money to spare. She probably would be a serious challenger to Stephen Lynch and beat him to become the first transgender Congresswoman and a strong progressive. There's a lot of people who should be thankful Brianna Wu squanders every advantage she gets.

Unfortunately nothing will come from writing to Disney, because one of the scampaign advisors, Cory Doctorow, is affiliated with Disney both through his friend/employer Mark Fruanfelder and the old maker-studio crew & from working for Disney directly in an advisor's capacity before, so the scampaign definitely has a direct line into Disney at least at some level.

I don't see why that would make a Disney lawyer who never even heard of that cocksucker fail to threaten suit against someone who steals their intellectual property. They'll either decide it's not worth bothering with or just immediately curb stomp John.

On one hand, I have seen people get a C&D for less than what John's doing but, historically, we rarely get to see a lolcow get what they deserve.

I'd give it about a 50/50. Disney is notoriously aggressive about their marks. Also, unlike copyrights, if you simply ignore infringement enough times, you can lose trademarks, which in this case are worth in the billions. Third, John isn't just selling tickets to a Star Wars movie, which might be non-infringing by itself, but he is also using the stylized text marks like the Star Wars logo itself. This is, obviously, infringing commercial activity.

Even in this benighted age, campaigns aren't fought entirely in the media and in the bank. Lynch has a massive advantage from being supported by the actual organizations on the ground, the ones that pound the pavement and get voters mobilized. Look at his campaign contributions list - this early in the cycle he's already got all the unions sewed up. Any serious challenger to Lynch would have to lay some serious groundwork with them well in advance.

No shit wu isn't an essentialist. Dude things he's a woman.

Wu has no chance. Lynch, as a long term incumbent is going to have every single union and local Democratic club out there pounding the pavement and providing financial support. To win, Wu would need to do a serious analysis of the district and see where Lynch is weak and to try and gain some endorsements and precincts (not sure how they break down the CDs in Mass) where Lynch is vulnerable.

This requires a data and analytics team in addition to a pawnbroker type that can convince Lynch allies they'd be better off with Wu. It's not going to happen.

When you decide to run for a seat the first thing you do is calculate your win number. It's simple math: total number of votes cast last time (same race/cycle) divided by half and plus 1. There's the number of votes you need to win. Then starts the hard work of trying to figure out how the hell you're going to get that many votes. You start calling the local kingmakers (union leaders, left leaning groups, ministers, etc) and "take the temperature" about how they'd feel about coming over to your side. With a fairly popular incumbent like Lynch at this point you'd probably be heavily rebuffed and most campaigns would just stop here and try and find an easier mark.

Wu's campaign was over before it even started. None of the groundwork that goes into a winning campaign was done. I think she just picked a district on the map via the old throw a dart method.

Analyzing the campaign is sort of futile because Wu doesn't expect to win. This is not the campaigning of a person who cares. Most notably is any lack of interaction with constituents. Even I got to meet my congressional candidate in Pensacola and see him introduce Trump at his rally before winning the nomination.

He also ran ads. Amazing ads. The best political ads ever aired.

Wu does not, and has never, intended to win this campaign. To win would result in either actually having to work, our being a very publicly visible failure.

Wu is absolutely aware of this. Notice how her tweets have evolved from "If elected" through "When elected" and into "If I were in Congress in 2010"

Wu intends on being visible enough as a candidate that the progressive crowd notices her running, then losing so she can then down the next period of time trying to make money promoting herself as "the progressive candidate who got run out of the race because of misogyny"
