Brianna Wu / John Walker Flynt - "Biggest Victim of Gamergate," Failed Game Developer, Failed Congressional Candidate

Wu did, someone told me, post in a private Facebook group that she's still looking to hire a campaign manager. She thinks that nobody will work for her because Massachusetts politicians think that she's low class. That's how deluded she is.

We've seen this exact cycle before. Back in 2014 when they were basically done with shipping Revolution 60 modulo the special edition disco lighting drama. Wu was planning out where to go from here, and it was pretty clear to everyone involved that R60 had made zero money for them. She got together with one of her internet friends and decided she was going to make some sort of souped-up visual novel creation software, and that she was going to get VC financing for it.

She was so totally confident about getting the 13 million dollars she wanted, that she encouraged her friend to work on this exclusively for no pay for like 6 months while she secured the funding. She was so confident she actually wrote in a book that Giant Spacekat was in the middle of a multi-million dollar expansion. Anyway, time dragged on and I don't know whether she actually had connections enough to get interviews with VCs or not, but either way she was obviously told that they weren't in the business of investing in ideas, and to come back when she had a solid prototype or finished product. Her friend runs out of money and has to go back to work, but Wu was still shopping around the idea that she was going to get VC money in 2016.

Eventually in the terminal stages of Giant Spacekat, she moaned on one of her podcasts about VCs not taking her seriously and how she totally would have got the money if she was a man (cough.) She always has some excuse. When she started her political campaign she told a lot of reporters she was still having interviews with VCs, despite that being basically impossible because the company didn't even really exist at that point. This leads me to believe we'll eventually see her blaming her failures on the MA political community failing to give her due respect or some nonsense like that.

Yes this is my theory too. And the unfortunate part is that it will work, because this is a very real issue in the Democratic party. Failure to let new blood into the party is how we ended up with Hillary for president, but it's an issue all up and down the ticket. When November comes and it's a bloodbath for progressive primary challengers, many of whom state and national parties are actively working against so they can protect some really awful incumbents, people like Pressley and Amatul-Wadud will remain professional and give polite comments to the press (about how happy they are to have garnered as much support as they did, and how they can't wait to try again next time) that don't thrown anyone under a bus, no matter how seething they really are. And there will be Wu, who is only in this for the publicity, ready to step up to be the official mascot of the issue, regardless of how inappropriate that honor is. And the press is too lazy to care and will just be happy they have someone willing to give them a story.

I don't think anyone is going to care about that for more than a few weeks though. The story's already mostly played out, and this will just be the aftershock resurgence. So the question is where she'll go from there?

Oh they didn't pick her. I think you thought I was including her as part of the primary challengers, but I was only including the serious challengers (Voehl doesn't count either. Has anyone figured out his deal? Running as a self-funded centrist Democrat against a very popular and well-financed centrist Democrat seems like a dumb waste of money. He'd have an equal chance of winning, but at least some support and donations, if he ran as a centrist Republican). They're laughing at this train wreck as much as anyone on this site is. There are many group texts among active Democrats in the 8th district and around the state about Wu's joke of a campaign.

But way back when she first announced her candidacy, people took her seriously. Remember that the vast majority of people didn't follow Gamer Gate, and at best just knew some overview version where Wu was a victim who fought back. They met with her. I don't know the exact timeline because I'm not in an inner circle, but definitely by March 2017 the progressive branch of the state party knew she was not a real candidate.

Since then, nobody has given her any support or endorsements, except for two randos who don't live in the 8th district and obviously didn't do their research. Again, compare that with the other two women candidates: they have an equal chance of winning as Wu does, so they're not getting major endorsements, but they'll end up winning something eventually or at least working hard for progressive causes so they're picking up some legitimate but minor ones. Nobody with any power or good advice has given Wu campaign advice since initial meetings with her in late winter or maybe very early spring of 2017.

All this is how she ended up with crazy Warren as her sole campaign volunteer and advisor, while Pressley and Amatul-Wadud have small but loyal groups of volunteers, and I guarantee you they're getting a lot of behind-the-scenes advice from important people within the state democratic party and other progressive action groups.

I love this MA political gossip, thanks for posting it.

I love that he thinks the reason why no one is helping him is because he’s low class. Do you think that’s partly why he bought the Porsche? Just to throw $100k on a car to show off to others and for retail therapy? I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case. The problem with John is he is low class no matter how much Frank makes and John spends. They don’t have an ounce of class between them. The way they dress, carry themselves, act, talk etc just oozes low class trash.

Earlier this year, he stated that if he's going to keep running every 2 years even if he loses every time. I'm skeptical he's going to really commit to that for life, but I'd be surprised if he didn't at least file to run in 2020. Since he's previously talked about running for President, I think there's an outside chance he might run against Markey rather than Lynch in 2020 because it's a "step up".

I doubt it, I think this is just his newest passing hobby: He uses the car to show off what a gearhead he is way more than he brags about the cost. Working on cars in general is also seen as a kind of low-class hobby, even if it is a $100,000 luxury model.

My personal theory is that the car is "retail therapy", but more for a mid-life crisis than anything else. Expect it to join the "Wu for Congress" posters and Unreal Engine 3 documents in his attic before too long.

Wow, these two back-to-back tweets really highlight John's sincere feelings of the 10,000k gay friends he lost in Iraq. Rest in penis, y'all.

Part of Wu's misogyny is that she thinks feminine interests and careers are lame and that masculine ones are better. And that women who like computer games and motorcycles and cars and space and cryptocurrency and whatever else she registers as "male" are the cool girls, not like those other girls. The porsche is just part of that, like the endless fapping about the motorcycles were. So is the single dress: she's too cool to care about fashion. Which is awkward, because there's a reason women politicians wear pantsuits: they're more practical to move around in and sit in front of a room in. She was apparently being snide about the royal wedding too, without noticing that everyone she's politically trying to appeal to loved watching the uptight British royalty sitting through a black church service.

It's the exact opposite of every other trans person I know, who immediately jumps to every stereotype of their new gender while they figure their shit out, before settling down and accepting that both men and women can have a variety of interests.

I don't think she'll throw a fit. It would admit failure. She'll pretend getting 13% of the vote was a huge accomplishment and just the start.

She has nowhere to go after this. Her being a "software engineer" was a lie and she hasn't held a real job in decades. Don't think Frank has the money to throw another half million into a bad mobile game.

My guess is she keeps running for political office. It gives her the attention she craves from crappy media outlets. Let's her stand on a soapbox on Twitter which she thrives on. And as an added benefit, she'll have a few bucks thrown her way that she can use to go on trips and buy electronics.

Being a perpetual candidate is really all she can do.

Give us the names of the dead John. Send out a memorial tweet for them. Honor their memory. That's what people normally do in this situation. They're all listed on various websites. Just go hop on and get the DOD press release for their death.

Some died.
Bullshit. I could armchair this entire tweet to hell and back. This is a totally sociopathic tweet, it doesn't even need the other tweet to show how much bullshit Wu is talking here. If your friends die, people you value, you know. You know their names, you know how many died. It is not 'some'. It sounds like Wu is talking about all the smart phones she dropped in her life and sent to the repair shop. Even if there were two people Wu knew, who died in Iraq, she doesn't give a shit about them, because they are just 'some'.

This could nearly be a meme:
"Hey Brianna how are your dogs doing?"
"Some died."

So far we've got Flynt/Wu on record as using Christmas, Mothers Day, and now Memorial Day as occasions to point out that the purpose these holidays is to give him a platform to squeal for money and attention. Can't wait for the Fourth of July, when we'll learn how many of his gay friends were killed in the Revolutionary War, during which "some froze to death at Jockey Hollow."

I think the amazing part of the endorsement thing is that not even Katherine Clark has given her one. For the sane among you who missed out on GG, Clark was the only politician of note to pay attention to the titty triumvirate of Wu, Anita and Chelsea. She's a moonbat who somehow managed to win a special election after being, I think, a member of a school board somewhere. Clark used to retweet at Wu all the time, before Wu announced he'd be seeking a throne of his own.

Anyway, not a peep out of Kathy so far.

Speaking for yourself, John: I'm not even close to being tired of winning.

I'm still not sure what John and co. expect Trump to do that'll seriously fuck with their livelihoods in any meaningful way.
It's a year and a third into Trump's presidency and life for the average Joe is more or less unchanged.
These people act like Trump's going to start a Nazi-esque dictatorship complete with camps to gas all the Mexicans and LGBT people while forcing all women into prostitution.
It's like people who thought Obama was a secret Muslim who was gonna turn America socialist.
Maybe people should stop watching the news, it'll do them good to get away from the shit that's making them terrified of a regime that doesn't exist.

Just wanted to post this, take a look at the other women that are running. All professional, typical photos you’d expect. Then you see Brianna / John in his one dress and leaning agonist his bike. You know, that photo he took to appear cool and that is 4 years old and heavily photoshopped.

That’s not even the worst part, the bio under the picture is hilarious. “Business Leader, Scientisf, Environmentalist”.

Have these idiots lost their damn minds? In what reality is any of that true about Brianna / John?

He voluntarily castrated himself.... for the good of humanity, and the planet.
