The excessive insertion of irrelevant details is a pretty common liar's tell. They think it gives their lies verisimilitude, when it really just trips them up more often than not when they forget them, and makes the story less credible to anyone who recognizes the John style of lying.

His parents doubtless told him that 10 years of undergrad -- and probably well north of half a million dollars -- with no degree was their limit.

Based on her own telling, it seemed like the harassment was of a college friend but in like 2012 or even later. Wu was making fun of, harassing, and making fake Facebook accounts to scare the mentally il, and bragging about it online when she was old enough to run for president.

When people scoffed at her actions, she backtracked and pretended it had happened years prior. But that would still have made her at least 30 years old.
