Brianna Wu / John Walker Flynt - "Biggest Victim of Gamergate," Failed Game Developer, Failed Congressional Candidate

Well, jeez. This is a pretty horrifying look in to Wu's psyche.

THEY'LL PAY. THEY'LL ALL PAY WHEN I'M POWERFUL! Perhaps another couple of decades of that therapy you talked about are in order.
I guess the leaving Johnny boy at camp is /r/thathappened, but it's a pretty funny image never the less.

Was it at the space camp Wu learned about the horrors of dropping moon rocks from space perhaps?

Pretty sure that came from listening to -- and failing to understand -- the audiobook of The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress, by John's favorite SF author, Robert "Heinlien."

Reaching out to the very heart and soul of District 8, obviously.

The photo would show a fat, young John Flynt sitting at a table by himself, crying into a tray heaped high with a small mountain of food. His face would be twisted into a snarl of ratlike malice and cunning as he plotted the deaths of his fellow campers, who had just voted him Shuttle fluffer.

I have some pretty serious doubts that John actually went to space camp. I mean it’s possible, but I’m pretty sure he just saw the 80s movie and it made an impression on him and it just became part of his story.

Damn I totally forgot that I was captain of a soccer team over a decade and a half ago. I'm pretty sure my mum was late picking me up from matches a couple of times, too. Brb running for Parliament.

My memory is a bit foggy and I'm younger than Wu but my recollection was that "Space Camp" was something the rich kids did. It wasn't a thing for most working class or even middle class kids. It was expensive. Certainly more expensive than the local summer camp with only canoes and kickball and archery.

According to their website one week session is $1K, and that does not include transportation to Alabama.

I am a child of the late 80's/early 90's, and I desperately wanted to go to Space Camp. I loved the movie The Right Stuff as a kid, I managed to get Niel Armstrong's autograph on a poster of him, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins, which is still one of my most prized possessions, I waited in line to see Apollo 13. In short, I was a huge space nerd, and I pestered my folks endlessly about going to Space Camp year after year. Finally when I was 13 or 14 my parents looked into it, and they found out how much it was going to cost. The camp alone in 1994 or 95 was over $1000 which was big money back then, especially to farmers still trying to rebound from the 93 floods. That $1000 did not include getting my happy ass to Alabama which even on Amtrak wasn't cheap either. It was made very clear to me that Space Camp was a rich kids thing, and that my going was simply out of the question for my family. I did know a couple of kids that went, their parents worked high up at Caterpillar, so it wasn't a big deal for them. Those were the same kids that got new cars when we turned 16. Way to connect with the masses Flu, boasting about going to a kiddie camp that most people can't afford.

As pointed out, Space Camp is pretty goddamn expensive, but the Flynt household is dripping with money so it's not entirely out of the question. The fact Flu harps on it so much as an actual accolade they got made captain of a bunch of kids for something with NASA plastered on it, when they're in their 40s right now, suggests how desperately Flu clings to something they actually did as opposed to the constant game of pretend they live daily.

This desperately needs the "Mis'sippi John" treatment. I demand a Kiwi Farms campfire story!

A part of me wants John outed purely so we can see he tries to spin it as nobody knowing before now, and that he's been successfully living as trans.

I mean he can just say that Rev60 is a "new" game and be handed money for it,

He's tweeted at getting Rev60 on the Epic store when it opened(Fortnite is so hot right now!) and how he's been flux capacitoring the kernel for a different IDE. Unfortunately Epic has made it clear that they don't deal in ironic bad games and who would be able to convince them that Rev60 is actually a true and honest space thriller like Mass Effect?
