That's because he's a man. Most women don't really want to date a shorter guy. Not always because they dislike shorter men, but because a lot of shorter men have a complex about it or don't want them to wear heels because they are insecure about it. But John being a man and also only dating maybe 3 people in his entire life has zero understanding of why this would matter.

yeah, but girls saying '6 feet+ only' makes no sense because the average American woman is 5'4". and the average american man is 5'10" so by saying over six feet only you're cutting out a lot of guys, which means they'll just lie about it because they know a 5'4" woman can't tell since most women don't wear six inch heels on a regular basis. and then all the other guys feel the need to lie so john pretends like he's 6'2" when he was noticeably taller than 6'2" janet reno.

John used to claim to be six foot four. Maybe someone told him that only one real woman in about 800,000 is actually that tall, so now he's lying about his height along with everything else.

(To be fair, when he's doing his outstanding Quasimodo impersonation, he's about five foot eight.)
