It's true John, in every single field other than software engineering, you get a free pass if you just said you tried. Anyway remind me which party it was again that held up the stimulus bill?

In software engineering, intent is very important. You don't just document the implementation, you document the intent. That way, we can know what it was you were hoping to do, and distinguish between a bug and the expected behavior.

And this is why it's bad for people to say what software engineering is like when they've never done any.

😻🤟😻

QA : OK, we're going to do some acceptance testing. Where's the requirements spec?
John : That would be about intention, "we software engineers" don't do functionality..it compiled and executed..Paint it yellow and ship it!

You don't evaluate 'code' by intention but you do evaluate the people who created that code by their intentions. Is John saying if he had an excellent employee who mistakenly created a serious coding problem he'd blame them personally and fire them? Because he'd be the first to go under that sort of policy, lmao.

This whole metaphor is incredibly stupid, computer programming usually has pretty simple binary success/failure conditions, so it's unsurprising that it gets judged on those same simple conditions. By contrast, politics is normative and subjective, one man's utopia is another man's hellhole. Apples and oranges.

Just because the graphics of the female characters are grotesque misogynistic caricatures of femininity doesn't mean the code doesn't work. :lit:

I have great news for you!

The graphics of the female characters are grotesque misogynistic caricatures of femininity *and* the code doesn't work (they fucked up the last boss, you can't defeat her)! Revolution 60 truly is the best of both worlds!

It's true John, you can learn so much about life if you view it through the lens of video games and Star Wars and Harry Potter. Great digital content, donations were well-spent.

If only ending your pathetic life was as easy as me going outside, John.

Reading those tweets I was wondering what pop-sci article he read that suddenly made him knowledgeable enough to do a pop-quiz and he very generously linked to it at the end.

Good thing I saved the original written by John's """"""""team""""""""":

What this fucking dunce doesn't realize is that Teams is one of the most ubiquitous tools in the modern enterprise. Every major telephony provider is integrating with it somehow and everyone is building shit for it.

John wouldn't know this of course, because he's never worked any kind of tech job. He just sees stuff on twitter where people talk about Slack, and Zoom, and git, and Linux, and DevOps and BIOS. He then tries to use those words in the way that Charlie Sheen, during his infamous drug binge, would put 'cool sounding words' together in phrases like "Warlock Vatican Assasin".

I really enjoy little stuff like this because of how it serves to subtly undermine his tech credibility.

Is John really pretending to have a social media team writing his tweets for him?

:story::story:

If he's about infosec®© and 'precision language' shouldn't he be deisgnating which tweets are from him personally and which are 'team generated'? like maybe 2 different accounts for starters
for, ya know, security and precision

You'd think. We know, because the iPhone ones are John and the Android ones are his team. But he's never made that distinction for obvious reasons. Including that it proves that he's lying about his Zoom tweets being from his team, rather than his own stupid self.
