Why does every single block game have a cult of personality around it's creators and or developers? It's a pattern I've been noticing with these types of games. Another game I've decided to observe has something similar with it's developer, who coincidently recently promoted Brickadia.
A partial consequence of the games being so small upon creation and the devs usually being pretty interactive with their communities and very clear about where the credit lied. You can see this with Roblox and it's Telamon and Builderman etc, with Blockland with Badspot, with Minecraft that had Notch and his crew. There's a reason they all succeeded in their own ways, carved out their niches, even if not all of them got to the height of Minecraft. You can see that Minecraft and Roblox lost this affinity for the 'leaders' overtime especially as they either went back to simply working or sold the product to someone else, or moved on. The big trio got lucky (besides Blockland) though even it had it's time in the limelight however short lived, they were all relatively early. Brickadia and all the spiritual successors won't have that advantage, just the personality cult. In this case, being so late, it's autists wanting to relive a childhood forever and worshipping whomever promises to deliver, rather than giving extreme reverence to actual innovators. Those times are generally past.

I hate how game revivals are always infested by troons. I set up connecting to LittleBigPlanet private servers so I could play some of the levels I used to play as a kid and one of the first things I saw was a fucking blahaj troon shark survival level.

I was able to "play" the Autism Tutorial levels though, so maybe it was worth it.

Placing blocks down in specific ways is inherently autistic bud. Do you think the Romans were normal when they erected their buildings?
I don't know, was your mom autistic when she erected my dick
his unironic tranny polycule love triangle consisting of Confidentbottle (Brickadia 3D Artist and Animator, previously mentioned), Toriel, and one other unconnected member by the name of APX
I'm sure if I keep reading I'll find out that this was the autistic tranny polycule that weathered the storm and prospered through the power of true love right

My eyes have been opened. Thanks for the rewrite, I never knew something I held so dear in my childhood inspired... That.

I hate how game revivals are always infested by troons.
The tragic reality that the small constituency of fans with enough time and passion for any old game are going to be heavily autistic computer addicts and so are almost guaranteed troons/furfags.

This makes me sad. I was a blockland autist to a severe degree (BLID <7500) and when I initially heard of this project a couple years ago it made me somewhat excited. The tranny menace ruins yet another project to revive something old and fun. RIP GrappleKnife, the best gamemode of all time.

I watched a friend play their closed beta recently, and it could barely handle a couple thousand bricks and a handful of players before the server he was on shit the bed. We're only a week away from the supposed release date. How much do you guys wanna bet they're going to delay the release again?

Also as a side note, what is the developers' plan for this game? It's a social sandbox like Blockland, but without the core features that gave it longevity (namely modding)? Plus everything seems more complicated--building, for example, has microshifting, microbricks, and a lot of unfamiliar tools/mechanics. Content creation for Brickadia is limited to what you can do in game, and what you're able to do is less approachable than its competitors. And if there's no content, there's not gonna be any players either. It all seems very shortsighted for a game that's claimed to be the successor to Blockland (unless their plan is to build hype, then take the money and run?).

Brickadia is now in Early Access. Let the floodgates commence. [a]
Fuck, I guess I'm eating my words then. Hoping for a spectacular clusterfuck at least.

@Patrick Bait-man Probably worth adding this fan forum and all the retarded drama surrounding it to the OP. From my understanding it was set up by a banned user to be free of janitorial antics, so it'll likely be a good source of info about the game that isn't at risk of being swept. This thread is probably the most relevant but it contains a lot of sperging.

To summarize it, DingoAnanas (formerly Sylvanor) and Rothary (formerly ANT) were highly skilled builders coming from Blockland. They and their friend group developed the largest map in the game, 'Brickadia City', which featured in promotional material. The game's dog mascot, Leon, was also developed by ANT as a sort of signature, but got co-opted by the users/devs. For one reason or another, the jannies had enough of them and banned them. I believe a lot of this drama is covered in this document [A] Sylv and ANT put together, but all of this happened about 2 years ago and I don't feel like digging through it right now. The gist is they were given the typical janny treatment and they sperged out over it.

Coincidentally, the (former) moderator who was alleged to be responsible for the aforementioned shitshow spoke about the controversy on a recently deleted Reddit post [A]:

1752249290723.webp

In response, ANT drops a massive spergout post on the fan forum about building swastikas and how he actually hates Nazis and is super liberal or something:

Mind you this has been taking place for more than 2 years now. I think the conflict recently flared up again as the developers extended Sylvanor's ban through early access, where it was previously only for the closed beta period, but I'm not certain about that. Nevertheless there's a bunch of shit on that forum that could add to the OP.

These guys are honestly retarded, though. Did they seriously think that the trannyjannies, who have displayed a habit of silencing people critical of them or the game, would just let their shit fly because they're the best builders on the game? Also, 2 years after the jannies spitting in their faces, they're still trying to be active in a community where the devs and mods hate them and want them gone. Sunk cost fallacy galore.

TL;DR there's been a sperg war going on inside Brickadia for years and it shows no signs of stopping.

Hardly an apt comparison, I think... Surely we're not that autistic, right guys? :(

They seemingly tried to sneak Evar back into their Discord server today, using the big early access release as a distraction to let him slip by the new players, but really quickly covered it back up once someone made a report.

Some stuff I scraped from the thread:
  • Sylvanor got banned from the Brickadia Steam discussion forums and Steam chat as well (they really fucking hate him for whatever autistic reason).
  • ban1.webpban2.webp
  • Allegedly a GDPR (EU data protection law) investigation was instigated by ANT over their bans.
  • GDPR.webp
  • Port was seen joining a server in Brickadia, showing that he hasn't been gamebanned. Alongside this a new statement was made regarding his recent reappearance, citing that he was not originally removed prior but instead "left because of other obligations" and he was only forcefully removed now because of "their proximity to an actually problematic person" (Evar) while excusing his exposed BLF behavior due to him being underaged at the time (14-15 if current DOB is correct); nevermind the fact that he ended up trooning out later in life (porn addiction is the leading factor in troonification) and he's in a relationship with Evar the shotacon pedo, whom he supports said shotacon artwork.
  • portjoinedthegame.webpportremoval.webp
  • The link to the splinter forum is blocked in the official Discord.
  • brickadiaforumcensor.webp
  • A new short video has been uploaded regarding Brickadia and recent events.
Kek, what a shitshow. Speaking of, the early access release only peaked the Steam Next Fest demo by 11 players.

My bad that was not Evar that was Port, Evar's husband

I was very hyped for this until they added microbricks, killed the SOVL revisiting it yeah i made a good call to stop since it’s all commiepedotroons. I hope some other guy makes a Blockland-like game, i played a ton of Blockland until it died and would like to see a modern variant

Update: The devs have altered their moderation policy. Sylvanor and ANT have been unbanned, among others. It seems like a good change, but I think they failed to strike when the iron was hot. The policy should've been this to begin with, and if not then, then it should have been changed to this during/right after the controversy with Sylvanor. The change seems to have appeased a lot of autists, but I think this is something more sinister.

Moderation Policy Update for Early Access

We've seen a few concerns regarding how moderation is going to work now that players have paid money to access the game. During our previous Open Alpha phase, we handled this inconsistently and disorganized, sometimes applying full bans that completely disabled player's accounts with little or no warning. In total, about 200 out of 50,000 free accounts ever had some type of ban applied.

For Early Access, we have now completely restructured how online play and bans will be handled, most importantly:
  • The previous Fair Play Rules are no longer relevant and have been removed.,
  • Almost all account bans based on the previous Fair Play Rules have been removed with rare exceptions where individuals posed genuine danger to the community.,
  • Playing on private servers with your friends is no longer subject to any global moderation, and joining private servers you found on the internet will be at your own risk.,
  • Playing on private servers will still be possible even if your account has been blocked from the services.,
It is not necessary to use our server list to play the game with your friends. If you choose to do so, publishing a server on our server list, playing on a published server, or publishing creations to the Gallery is subject to the Terms of Service. Your access to these services may still be disabled for breaches of the terms.

In case of such a breach, we will clearly inform you of the reason on your account page. If possible, we will allow you to rectify it, following a simple 1 day > 1 week > 1 month > 1 year > permanent ban escalation policy. If there are no further breaches within two years, the escalation will reset.

We've also seen some claims that users could get banned from the game for complaining about bugs, asking about future features like modding support, or participating in adult communities outside of the game. That has never been the case, and such claims are complete fabrication.

We hope this will ease your concerns about losing access to the game due to a single mistake, as that is really not our intention. Thanks!

When you consider the timing, it all seems like a distraction from the Port incident. Or worse yet, an excuse to let pedos like him play their game advertised to kids.

I'm definitely grasping at straws here, but notice one of the last sentences explicitly mentions people will not be banned for participating in adult communities, which is so vague it could mean anything. You could argue literally anything is participating in an adult community. But the obvious implication is it's something sexual, which begs the question: where is the line drawn? Will people like Evar get a pass because "they're just participating in an adult community bro"? Their statement's imprecision with this matter in particular should be a cause for concern when you consider Brickadia's history.

The whole ordeal with Port just makes me very uneasy. The staff (the tranny and Sixmorphugus/Bearcadia in the screenie) were greeting a known pedophile like a friend and basically admitted to being content to let said pedophile stay around as a dev. They almost certainly wouldn't have banned the fag if no one had said anything about it. I'm not certain exactly what's going on behind the scenes, but it makes me really suspicious and I don't think I'd let my kids anywhere near this game.

Also, I whipped up a summary of the document that ANT wrote. I didn't get into the chatlogs as it's mostly just a general overview, but I've tried to include the details I found pertinent.

  • Sylvanor was incredibly influential in the game's early development, contributing assets and highly-valued input that the devs were responsive to. ANT even claims the game even originated as a save viewer made to showcase Sylvanor's Blockland builds in Unreal (I don't think this last part is true, but it's what he said).
  • After the incident with Facechild, Sylvanor and ANT's trust in the moderation team slipped. At the time, Facechild was working on a Titanic build that was a large community effort, and when he was banned, another member by the name of Bones4 left in protest and the project was halted.
  • Their trust was further squandered due to a lack of transparency, and the devs began to seemingly ignore Sylvanor's once well-received feedback. Sylvanor begins to feel that the devs are deliberately avoiding him (which would later be proven true).
  • Unknown to Sylvanor and ANT, jannies were monitoring Sylvanor's Discord, which his Brickadia server was integrated with. This allowed the jannies to see every message sent in the server. Sylvanor was often critical of the developers when on his own server, according to ANT. Sylvanor is also ESL which leaves some of his comments open to misinterpretation.
  • Seeing this deterioration of their relationship with the devs, ANT attempted to resolve the conflict by talking to Sixmorphugus directly. Sixmorphugus seems to misunderstand some of what ANT is asking for, and offers to make him QA but refuses to do so for Sylvanor. Ultimately though, ANT is able to set up a way for Sylvanor to contact the devs, using the janny bot in the Brickadia Discord.
  • However the sitdown was a sort of trap. The request made by ANT to only include developers went out the window once Sylvanor contacted them, and they attempted to force moderators into the discussion and to make Sylvanor apologize. Meanwhile, the bot anonymizes messages from moderators, so Sylvanor had no idea who he was attempting to speak to, further displaying the team's lack of transparency.
  • The devs then released an internal statement for QA, accusing Sylvanor of slandering/insulting the devs and deadnaming trannies. At this point ANT gives up and loses all trust in the devs. The document likely starts getting developed around this time.
  • After the release of the document, Aware (a moderator) joins Sylvanor's server and reads the document. He admits to pushing for many of the complaints listed in the document, defends Toriel and SeaChameleon, and admits that he used the chat logs from Sylvanor's discord to turn the developers against him. Aware is not punished for this(?) and leaves the moderator team of his own volition at a later date.
  • Finally, 2 years of sperging, begging, and ban evading, we are brought to today where Sylvanor and ANT are finally unbanned, likely for entirely unrelated reasons.

Not particularly relevant to everything else, but it at least acts as a good conclusion for the shit with Facechild:
  • Some time after the document's release, Toriel, who was one of the moderators involved in the Facechild incident, and Bones4, the person who left in protest after Facechild's ban, mutually apologized. ANT has since retracted part of the document dedicated to Toriel, saying that this acceptance of responsibility and apology warrants it. He makes a comment that Toriel is still probably a nepo hire due to their relationship with SeaChameleon, though.

My bad that was not Evar that was Port, Evar's husband
To be fair it's pretty easy to mix up the gay pedophiles involved in Brickadia's development with there being so many of them.

i played a ton of Blockland until it died and would like to see a modern variant
Same. To my knowledge there's at least a couple groups of former Blockland modders trying to make a true successor, but I imagine it'll be a while before we see anything.

To add to the port return, the devs are now claiming that they "quickly decided to ban port", though it took 2 hours of confusion from the non-compromised side of the player base while moderators and developers were busy saying hi and chatting with them, add to that the defense that one of the moderators attempted to give and it doesn't paint a pretty picture, seems like a hasty attempt to brush the situation under the rug and avoid any sort of scrutiny.

the response statement was a reply message that was copied and pasted to many of the negative steam reviews that outlined much of the same information that is in this thread.

Brickadia bros... not like this. All those years of "development," how could it be?

Interesting read. I used to play blockland from 2010 - 2018...good fucking times man. I not surprised to see that there are pedos involved in Brickadia considering how many faggots there were in blockland. That being said, is there an extensive list of all proven blockland pedophiles? I could have sworn I saw a list way back on the forums like 7 or 8 years ago.
