🐱 Brie Larson Rumored To Play A Jedi More Powerful Than Vader In New Star Wars Show

CatParty

At this stage, nobody’s going to be surprised if Brie Larson shows up in a future Star Wars movie or TV series. After all, the actress has hardly been shy when it comes to admitting her lifelong love of the franchise, and she even unsuccessfully auditioned for The Force Awakens before she was an Academy Award winner and star of a billion-dollar comic book blockbuster.

The 31 year-old has already been linked with a multitude of projects including the mystery film in the works from her Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige, while there’s also near-constant talk that she’s high on Disney’s list of candidates when it comes to casting the next major female lead for a galaxy far, far away.

So far, nothing has been confirmed just yet, but a recent rumor has claimed that the Captain Marvelstar will play a Jedi named Maeve in a Star Warsseries set in a brand new timeline that would see her character established as being more powerful than Darth Vader and Rey combined. The plot will reportedly focus on her tracking down a mysterious MacGuffin that controls the very essence of the Force, while there are naturally bad guys hot on her tail.

Of course, we should mention that the story comes from Mike Zeroh, who has a reputation for doling out very hit-or-miss information regarding Star Wars, to the extent that he was openly mocked on social media by Rian Johnson, with The Last Jedi director revealing that the crew used his name as a verb for something that was wide of the mark, specifically comparing him to trash. Ouch.

We certainly advise taking this with a grain of salt, then, but Zeroh has gotten a couple of scoops right in the past and the more we hear about Brie Larson’s affinity for Star Wars, the more it feels like she’s destined to play a role in the beloved sci-fi universe one day in the not too distant future.

This is retarded even beyond being retarded simply due to being related to Star Wars. The Star Wars universe already has a Strong Woman character that a lot of the fans actually like in the form of Ahsoka Tano - a character that they've got to know over years and who was already able to go toe to toe with Vader for longer than anyone else managed to survive.

What is it with "strong women protagonists" being male power fantasies? "Oh yeah, my new female Jedi could kick Vader's ass with one hand tied behind her back."
Too bad in the main timeline we just got that loser Luke Skywalker instead who had to win with the power of love, like some sort of girl.

Never was a big SW fan but can someone explain how pissing off fans of a franchise is a good business model?
Largely because the pre-existing starwars fan base was pretty cancer and drove George Lucas to finally cave in and sell Star Wars to Disney.

It's pretty obvious the old star wars fan base was toxic as hell, literally pushing phantom menace actors to near suicide and not just the typical "im an internet feminist and I got death threats kind of way". They pushed Lucas to the point that he actually said fuck it, and sold his company to Disney (something he said he never wanted to do because he hated the company and wanted to keep his vision more pure for the fans).

Disney gets the franchise in an ultimate fuck you to the fanbase that drove him to it, and once Disney had it- they pretty much knew they had to milk the franchise and try and expand their fan base past the one that got off on sending hate mail to Lucas;

Ergo "Lets cater to women, the old fans will hate whatever we make anyways, so fuck it".

I am disappointed by the way the Disneyverse has been handled and it does make me really sad at various points because of the stuff they got rid of and how stupid it is, but on the other hand Star Wars fans set themselves up for failure for sperging out so hard over the prequel trilogies, never shutting up, and crying like babies for years till George sold the company. Frankly, we deserve the disney wars stuff.

I think if they deny there is a specifically female form of power, they can use that power while denying it exists. So they get to hold on to their "oppressed" cards ("it's not fair I don't have male power which ackshually only exists because of socialization differences sweaty") and get to continue idolizing and demanding male power forever. They'll never get it, but that's okay. They don't want to ever lose their victimhood status.

Brie's gotta be either sucking a ton of producer cock or trafficking a ton of kids for her to keep landing roles she's terribly unqualified for, jeez.
Only film she was okay in was Scott Pilgrim.
She was fine in Don Jon. She only had like a few lines and just had to be texting on her phone for most of her scenes.

Was Vader even that powerful? He was slow as shit and basically just relied on force manipulation to fight.

"sTrOnGeR tHaN vAdEr!!!"

Who fucking cares, Star Wars power levels are stupid and make no sense half the time anyway. You think the Jedi/Sith shit is wank, look at some of the specs for the weapons. The first Death Star's megalaser had a yield in the exatons (ten to the eighteenth fucking power, 1000000000000000000 tons of TNT) and then the Sun Crusher's weapon was capable of slapping a star so hard it would go supernova and form a black hole.

So..I only know this because I got sucked into the Star Wars Clone wars animated series..which past season 3 becomes less of a kids show and more of an action-based star wars show. I only saw the season 6 finale and didn't do the recontinuation because fuck disney.

Vader/Anakin Skywalker represents a convergence of 'The Force'. 'The force' being some nebulonic metaphor for the balance of good and evil. The balance converged in Anakin for...reasons. Idk. At some point Yoda visits the Force or something like that and you get a trippy scene that was super fun to watch baked AF.

In Story telling does it really make sense to have someone more powerful than the person that was like a convergence point of all power in the Universe? I guess? Seems like sloppy writing to me.

I really hope Disney takes my advice and tells everyone they are going to use the time travel shit that was in that kids show to take back the sequel trilogy and fix all of the mistakes made in Star Wars. Get the people who can't let go really fucking hyped and excited. Maximum hype type of shit.

Then they use it to completely wipe everything. Sequels, Prequels, Original, Extended Universe, Disney Universe, Holiday Special, Ewok Adventures and whatever other stupid shit I can't remember.

Then they just start over with Brie Larson as the new "Chosen One".

That way everyone gets what they fucking deserve for still giving a shit about this garbage.

This is simply unacceptable, but not for the reason you might think. A proud, and emotionally strong-willed Jedi typically has (at least in the old lore) some high caliber of Ass. Brie Larson has been officially-rated by the Flat Bottom Academy as a certified "PLANK". She simply cannot play a Jedi on principle.

The problem with Star Wars is a problem that faces/has faced other series of similar ilk in the past - it devolves into "X is more powerful than Y" wank and forgets that only retards and autists care about power-level wank, people just want an interesting story. Star Wars hasn't delivered a remotely interesting story since the original trilogy and even that's debatable.

something that is squarely at the fault of George Lucas, as well.

i mean, it's been a long fucking time since I saw star wars but i don't fucking remember darth vader being literal space jesus until episode 1 came out. he was just some dude that was seduced into being bad and helped kill all his brothers.
