After dropping way too many hours in the game since release, here is a pretty lengthy review with some thoughts.
>Too lazy to update his review
>Complains about a few hour grind to get total level up to 252
>Too lazy to get to chapter 4 before dropping a review
Sounds about right for a J1mmy review, this review was fitting for within the first few days, not so much 10 days later. There are 14 skills with Chapter 1 though 3. Getting these up to 20 is pretty quick, you only need 252 total levels to get to Crenopolis. It's really not that hard, yet he is missing some of the best skills in the game. Along with Chapter 3 giving weaponsmithing skills which greatly increase QOL for new chapters and to keep your weapon and shield up to par.
There is still some QOL stuff that needs to be implemented, but it feels 10x better since release date due to left click default actions (on most things), custom keybindings, minimap navigating, camera changes, and less crowded combat. Kinda surprised the left click default wasn't implemented on release, hopefully within the week we can get some customizable menu entry swapper action.
The foundations of the game seem pretty solid. Combat needs some work along with bosses. Though I'm not surprised why dropping a bosses wasn't a top priority on the early access release. We really don't need resource shitter outters that devalue skilling like every newish OSRS boss, stick to the KQ mentality of rare but good upgrades (at the time). I noticed sometimes my smithed weapons for monster's weaknesses wasn't always worth it. I.E. I smithed a mace for grinding a certain monster's weakness, it ended up being worse than a faster weapon that didn't hit the monster's weakness (similar to how the rune and dragon scimitar were before changes). I hope we get some balancing regarding that as it was annoying and disappointing. The wiki has most weapon speeds under "Weapons".
I can definitely feel gear upgrades, even if sometimes they are slightly incremental. I've had a few times where an epic or rare armor drop allowed me to hop up to the next monster tier without dying. If your RNG isn't up to snuff with drops, it's worth lagging behind on the lower level monster for a few levels to get that uncommon/rare/epic gear drop. It's definitely worth getting your smithing/mason/bonewright skill up to your highest combat level, it removes the RNG from the weapon grind. Every 10ish levels it's worth going back to upgrade your weapon. The same will be true for armorer once it is released in chapter 5.
All the skills minus combat, fishing, and cooking have good synergy and usefulness. I thought I would never go back to the first chapter on the first day. After hitting Chapter 3, I realized that previous chapters still have a part to play. Knowledge is my favorite way to train skills I don't enjoy. Just finished up The Lost and Found quest by using knowledge to train stonemason and bonewright for the majority of it. Make sure to use your XP boosting pots for knowledge XP drops. It's the only time they are worth it due to their short length. If you want to drop knowledge in a Chapter 3 skill and are in a different chapter, you can still use that Chapter 3 potion to get a nice bump even though it is greyed out. It adds up over time, every 5 knowledge XP drops you essentially get a free knowledge drop.
Overall I'm feeling optimistic with the future of the game. The team has been doing a great job on getting updates out for QOL or various bugs. Fine tuning will take a while. Combat will be a challenge though if they stick to the same skill, just reskinned. I personally enjoy it, but it would be a bit better if each combat is unique in some way. Different bosses for different regions would be a good addition to encourage grinding up different chapters, maybe fighting old quest bosses. Cooking and fishing need some reworking imo. Cooking isn't always profitable, so your stuck doing something profitable if you don't want to piss away money. It should be somewhat linear in profitability. Fishing just needs better respawn rates or a semi-afk method for when your logged in, along with some more synergy with cooking or alchemy.

New J1mmy video on BS:
I've sort of stopped playing. Logging in once a day to cash in afk XP. That's it.

Idyl used to (maybe still does) make and showcase stupid runelite plugins. He is a massive trannanie (hannanie) cocksucker. Not too surprised he suffers from TDS.There's also Idyl(J1immy wanna be?) video but I am not going to link it. Many of the points Idyl brings are outdated already but overall he trashes the game too. The most funny thing is he brings up that you should visit his bluesky social media and I thought to myself: "bluesky? oh boy" and of course to the surprise of nobody the guy has total TDS:
