It was 2015 and to be fair, it wasn't "out of nowhere" it was because a Confederate flag waving guy shot up a black church.

SJWs of course always overreact in embarrassing ways over everything, but there was at least a clear reason why people suddenly became uncomfortable with the flag.

Why anyone is infatuated with a battle flag of a bunch of slavery-loving war losers is beyond me.

It's just a case of a bunch of goddamn Yankee carperbaggers thinking it looks cool and appropriating it to make themselves look more "country". I'm looking at you Michigan.
