Yesterday after all the additional information about our Afluenza 2.0 victim I began to wonder what my fellow kiwi's think about the whole thing. Particularly the judge that decided 6 months (now possibly shortened to 3). How do you feel about his fathers letter to the court outlining his son being punished for 20 minutes of action? Really the entire shitshow. How do you feel about one of the heros who stopped and made sure to keep him around til' police came being so affected initially that he wasn't able to make a statement to police because he was so emotionally effected by what he saw that he was unable to stop sobbing long enough to give a statement as to what happened?

Deep thoughts has had a few threads about what constitutes rape and what those people consider "real rape". Does this solidify what legitimacy of the horror women feel when violated? Hell what about the horror men deal with while violated. Both genders feel shame just openly admitting feeling violated to such a degree that rape starts to feel like a legitimate possibility. I'll include a couple links below with the various examples listed above.

Now including a letter to rapist unrepentant ex Olympic swimmer hopeful Brock Turner.

Poor victimized baby being banned from ever training for Olympic events.

"Unfairly convicted" caught by two Swedish men in the act. Note: one
Of these men was so horrified by what he saw he was unable to give police a statement because he was sobbing so hard for such a long time.

Sweet Brock being lampooned by a dirty unconscious whore and having to stick his dick inside her behind a garbage can and his obvious slut attacker shaming him in court over how she was affected.

Daddy's letter to the court about his poor babies life being ruined for 20 minutes of action.

And lastly his super close lady friend letting us know he's actually a great guy and the real issue with society is DUH political correctness.

And I'm spent. I assume my own feelings on all the news coverage of late is pretty clear. It's horrifying and disgusting that this shit is still reality and it doesn't seem to be getting any better anytime soon. Really would love to hear what you all have to say on the topic.

I think that this is nothing to do with misogyny but rather about wealth. Although I think poorly of mandatory minimum sentences this is clearly judicial bias rather than a judge giving a justifiably small sentence. I am opposed to prison time for the most part and think he should just be emasculated instead

I think that there are debateable times of rape but they would be times in which the unconscious person is in their own home and let the person in rather than happening in a dark alley

I agree with you on it being about wealth. One of the other big issues though is it's hard to prove (except in this case as there were witnesses that stopped it as well as vaginal tearing and bruising. Then there is court... Don't really feel like elaborating on that one beyond stating that the victims are torn apart by the defendants lawyers on stand. Yet another reason this is such an under reported issue. I 100% believe this isn't just a woman issues. It's a social issue and that's sad.

Also I'm fairly certain I never mentioned misogyny in the OP.

Edit: ah I see what you're referring to. I wrote what women go through. I will update accordingly as again this is a social issue not a gender issue.

Edit again: nope the very next sentence asks what about the men who have to deal with the mental repercussions of molestation/rape/whatever. No editing on my part needed. My Father has had to live with childhood sexual abuse from a teacher. He's 73. It still affects him. As stated this is not a gender issue. It crushes my heart knowing such a Charasmatic and wonderful man has been haunted by what this disgusting piece of shit did to him. Once again.... Social issue.

I appreciate your response though. I wasn't sure anyone would even bother since it's such a loaded topic anymore.
