Browser Extension Thread - Every Internet forum for discussing the Capital I Internet needs a good thread like this

Did youtube back off it's adblock bullshit of threatening to ban you if you did it so many times?
And any recommendations for blocking ads on youtube on an iphone?

Download Them All served me well for many years of sucking down robot pictures from moonchans
Video DownloadHelper has come in handy when something was REALLY funky java-y sub-windows type bullshit
noscript is my choice out of habit for blocking, not sure if it's good or not any more

tampermonkey and the google drive synchtube too for the various synchtubes I use too, natch

I have ad-block still and while i got that a few times it has not shown up since. I didn't do anything different and I am in burger-land.

ClearURLs - removes tracking elements from URLs
uMatrix - block elements and scripts that come from third-party URLs

Abandoned, uBlock Origin can do the same thing with advanced mode enabled.
Not quite, uMatrix allows you to block by type of request, such as image, css, js, etc, on a per-domain basis, where as uB0's Advanced Mode only lets you block images and js on the specific site you're on entirely. It's a shame it's abandoned, honestly.

I use these for Brave:

Tampermonkey - Installed scripts to block shitty youtube recommendation and hover previews
uBlock Origin - + a modified version of the yt-neuter filter which preserves save to playlist and transcript button
BitWarden - A password manager, LastPass but better.
Dark Mode - An alternative to Dark Reader, customizable and less resource intensive than dark reader
Unhook - Removes youtube components
Youtube Shorts Block - An additional extension to double make sure shorts are blocked
Return Youtube Dislike - Self-explanatory
Sponsorblock - Self-explanatory
Stop YouTube Hover Previews - An addition extension to double make sure hover previews are blocked.

I use these for Brave:
It's astonishing how many addons it takes to make youtube not suck ass, and woe is you if you use FF or one of its forks, because while chromium niggercattle deserve what they get, jewgle at worst ignores their goyim, while simultaneously working overtime to deliberately and maliciously slow youtube on better browsers.

I was looking for something to prevent browser fingerprinting (for the purpose of ban evasion, since I do use various slurs more often than not) for websites that block tor nodes, and found CanvasBlocker. So far it works on everything not protected by CF.

I used firefox for a while but in my 1 second of googling discovered chromium based browsers are marginally faster so I use that instead. Ultimately, it depends on your preference, I'm not going to say one is objectively better than the other. Both have their various advantages and trade-offs. From what I can tell, though Brave is based on chromium, it does respect your privacy.

If I had to choose a non-chromium based browser though, it would be the Mullvad Browser fork of Firefox, going entirely off of Null's recommendation. I want to like Librewolf, but I cannot in good conscience recommend it because it has too many compatibility issues.

And yes, it IS absolutely insane how many modifications I have to make to youtube to make it useable. So much simpler were the times of 2008 youtube.

In addition to some extensions already listed here such as UBO, I got:

Education-related:
Unpaywall - Attempts to find a free pdf version of the journal you're looking for
Save to Zotero - Communicates with the Desktop version of the Zotero app to save scientific journal articles in one click. Zotero itself is a handy application that allows for easy saving/citation of journals in a variety of citation formats (unless you're a law student, in which case, good luck with your manual citations).
Sci-Hub - Attempts to retrieve a free pdf version of a paywalled journal. It is more successful if the journal is from 2020 or prior, due to current legal issues the developer is facing.

Misc:
Fakespot - An OK barometer to tell if Amazon product reviews have been botted by comparing how often a certain phrase or keyword is used. It is not so accurate if the item in question is simple (eg: an umbrella, where there's only so much words you can use to describe if it works or not).
Facebook Container - Prevents Facebook from tracking you across the web for advertising purposes
Google Container - Similar to the above, only with Google tracking. Warning: breaks sites that require Google sign-in, such as if you're trying to check your Gmail in the same browser but in another tab.
Enhancer for YouTube - Tweaks for toggling YouTube videos, such as increasing volume by default, opening video in theater mode, etc.
Global Speed - Allows you to modify the playback speed of videos with a button press. It works on non-YouTube sites as well, as long as it detects a video is playing. It can be configured to have different speeds at individual tabs (eg: one tab plays at 2x, another at 4x, etc.).

Reddit check - find a funny webpage you like? click the extension and it'll find where the page has been linked to on reddit so you can see their seething.
I considered installing this and then I saw...

Needless to say, Reddit doesn't need to know what I jack off to. Nope, not installing. Good idea if it was searching when asked instead of sending every link to every page I access to Reddit to check if there's threads about it on there... and at that point, why not look it up manually?

Shit like this is why the less extensions, the better.
Also can now vouch for this extension that somewhat tames the webp menace.

I use:
Bitwarden (selfhosted vaultwarden instance)
Adnauseum
I still dont care about cookies (non pozzed version)
Sponsorblock
Violentmonkey (for yt fullscreen in window)
Windowed (for fullscreen in window on other sites)

I use Bliss content filter on Firefox to visually get rid of the troonposting everywhere on the internet from my screen. I cannot recommend doing this highly enough

You can download an apk for Freetube, which is basically ad-free youtube you can download straight off of. I've never had an iphone so IDK if you can sideload apps, but it's fantastic if you can get it set up.
