I still think Nickelodeon is deceptive and harmful in certain aspects, such as Nick News and The Big Green Help - what would you think if Nickelodeon SE (Ireland), Nickelodeon USA and MTV were split into three separate companies?

It's a network for kids. Nobody cares what you think, man.

* For the first time ever, the Olympics were held in the South American region, with a nation represented under the Olympic flag receiving a gold medal for the the very first time.

* Australia having decimal currency for 50 years and also in the same country, TV for 60 years.
* The open source operating system Linux being around for 25 years.
* Nicktoons being around for 25 years.
* The hard disk drive being around for 60 years.

Tributes:
* Andrew Sachs who played Manuel from Fawlty Towers.
* John Glenn, the oldest man in space.
* King Bhumibol Aduladej, the King of Thailand.
* Carrie Fisher who played Princess Leia in Star Wars.
* Closure of the Telstra 2G GSM network due to a declining customer base for this network, which was in service for 23 years.
