$ (BTC) The Bitcoin Thread - NO SHITCOINERS ALLOWED

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
Now I regret not waiting a few more days before selling mine...oh well, it was a miniscule amount anyway.
"Surely it won't go any higher than 70k€, right?"(:_(

I picked a point to sell my crypto a long time ago. Its when I can buy a house and pay the property tax of it for 10 years. When its that high, i'll sell my holdings. Till then I'm DCA buying it.
I've seen people get out when they had like a 10k profit after only dumping like 100$ in it then regretted it after it kept going up so I made it a point to pick an exact figure where I won't get .

You're still thinking about it wrong. You don't sell your Manhattan real estate to pay off your mortgage. You hold it your entire life and pass it on to your children. You aren't holding some stock, you're holding the world's next reserve currency that will still be going up long after you're dead.

Is it possible to mine anything on a Nvidia K6000 and make a profit?
With a lot of coins you are competing with people who are stealing power

IMO mining with your own electricity is only good if you want to turn some power bill money into coins for which many different devices are reasonably viable

BetterHash doesn't seem to have any data for that chip but my guess would be a no. https://www.betterhash.net/NVIDIA-Quadro-K6000-mining-profitability-16098399.html

There are very few options for "household" mining anymore. My knowledge is a few years out of date so take what I say with a grain of salt, but mining is more or less kill. Even if you had significant amounts of capital to invest in both the hardware and infrastructure your return would be very marginal.

The first ASIC chips were released in 2013. That heralded the beginning of the end for hobbyist BTC mining. Back in the early days, 2011-2013, teenage boys were uploading videos on Youtube of their elaborate mining set-ups in their bedroom. Some of those guys are filthy rich today. Others bought Lambos and cashed out too soon.
Imagine selling 1000BTC in April 2013 for $150 and buying a Lambo with that...
