Does anyone have any recommendations for current hardware wallets and software wallets? As well as which to avoid.

I saw https://learnmeabitcoin.com/beginners/wallets/ but I don't know how up-to-date it is.

Ledger Nano (classic) works fine, the lcd screen on it though leaves a lot to be desired. The newer ones look better but I haven't used them.

I just got BitKey to see how normie-proof it is, I actually like it a lot. It's a mutli-sig wallet where one of the keys are kept at BitKey so you can recover stuff if you lose the wallet or your phone (hopefully not both at the same time). This is run by Block, Inc, founded by Jack Dorsey.

If you get a hardware wallet that requires you keeping your key manually, I'd recommend buying those metal tablets on amazon where you either etch in the letters youself or slide in the metal letters.

My personal recommendations:

For BTC only the Blockstream Jade is great. Easy to use and has a full airgapped mode. If you're into alts, the Trezor Safe series are good. Stay away from Ledger since they can't seem to stop fucking up with vulnerabilities, and leaking customer data.

For desktop go with Sparrow Wallet. It's the standard for managing your UTXOs and it works well with hardware wallets. For mobile, Aqua Wallet is good for small stacks and spending because it integrates the Liquid Network seamlessly.

For storing keys I highly recommend something like superbacked.com over stamping into metal.

Not buying bitcoin 15 years ago when I thought it was just silly monopoly money nonsense is easily the biggest regret in my life.
Could be worse, you could have bought Bitcoin 15 years ago, then decided it was silly monopoly money and gave it all away. Definitely not speaking from personal experience or anything, no way...

BTC hit 52wk low, how are we all feeling?

I'm retarded and have no opinion besides that the lower it goes the more I want to put in, because I find it highly likely it'll go up again at some point in the next 5yrs.
Sold most of my crypto a few weeks ago. It seems clear that was the ( very anemic ) top of what has become yet another controlled wallstreet asset, there are way less volatile ways to get similar returns BTC has been giving since 2021

It's cheap sats. The only thing I'm stressed about is not having a lot of spare cash to buy with atm. If the FTX crash taught me anything it's that the best thing to do when BTC crashes is to buy. The second best thing to do is nothing. There will be a point when it will be a struggle to even get a hold of 1,000 sats. Maybe not in our lifetime but definitely in our kids'.

Nearly a 104 week low now. Touching 66k for the first time since 2024.

I feel afraid; maybe BTC has seen its highs and we're stuck here for years or even forever. But, more importantly, I've learned this lesson in money more than once; when I feel afraid, that's the worst time to make reactive decisions. Hold and see it through. Buy the dips. Diversify so that BTC is not the only horse I'm betting my money on (it's the only crypto I'm betting on, but a small portion of my investment portfolio).

So after the pangs of fear, I just feel like this is business as usual and I'll see how things shake out.

Accounting for inflation BTC is down extra bigly from the 2021 top, gruesome.

Getting absolutely fucking felted rn.
