$ (BTC) The Bitcoin Thread - NO SHITCOINERS ALLOWED

I know options like LocalBitcoin and LocalMonero are a thing, but does the same apply for stuff like ETH? More to the point, is it even worth just having a pile of BTC lying around for "anonymous" purchases if the entire ledger is a matter of public record?
You can (and should) use a different address for every transaction, something now supported by most clients. There are also currencies with more options for anonymity, although none with the adoption of BTC. Monero (XMR) is considerably more secure.

Thanks for the info, my man. My main wallet for the time being is Jaxx Liberty because I just wanted something I can integrate with my browser and phone. Probably not the best choice when alternatives like Electrum exist.

never leave your precious coins on a machine that is connected to the internet.
use cold storage, move your coins offline, and only have online what you need to do daily payments.
malware, hackers, virus, etc, you are target, as your ip connects to the wallet, it get tracked and you will be attacked, sooner or later you will receive an email with a link, a download, an advertising, you will get infected and your coins transfer to another address.
electrum is not good, no wallet is good, only use them for small payments.

well that dip didnt last very long, already back at 19k

i feel like its gonna break 20k before christmas at this rate, the dips are becoming shorter and shorter and its recovering faster and faster

I'm a stockfag with zero knowledge of crypto except that it's volatile and goes up. Cathie Wood said buy bitcoin. Should I, even at these prices? And is it worth looking at anything else like Ethereum?

I plan to be a retarded Boomer and buy it in ETF form for tax purposes.

Theres a massive 400+BTC sell wall at 20k on Coinbase. I think it'll bounce down off 20k at least one more time before breaking, but doing so before EOY is definitely a possibility. Ive got a leveraged sell at ~19,900 and will buy back the bounce. If it happens to chew through the wall I'll buy back at maybe 20,500, because if it makes it past there or 21,000 its gonna take off.

You're 100% right that once it breaks 21k it's gonna moon. I only have about <redacted> of a full coin at this point so it wouldn't be the end of the world if it took a bit longer, I could accrue more DCAing while its still sub 20k.

So I found out my PayPal cash card can be used to buy crypto (using my PayPal balance). Tried it on coinbase. Guess I found my way to easily buy crypto without needing to link banks or actual credit/debit cards.

Bitcorns back up and hovering around ATH again.

Damnit, what a tease

We just hit 22k and is going up.

not time to celebrate, just hold till 100k then celebrate

Soon, in less than 5 years BTC will be over 100k, i think its time for someone with some previous experience start a thread about how to cash out your gainz without bring to much attention, let say you made over 10 mil hodling all this years, and now its time to cash out and have fun, how do you do it?
Also to share experiences and tips to avoid confiscation.

and three days later it broke 20k lmao

post if youre okay
Why wouldn't I be? It was a leveraged position, so selling some of it at $19,900 and rebuying at $20,100 didnt lose me any BTC, I just missed out on $200-worth gains per BTC I had sold.

There were a couple points today where I sold part of my position because I thought it was going to stop and go down a bit, trying to work the swing, but that shit just kept going up, so I bought back a bit higher, and that shit kept going. So on part of my position, I didnt gain the full $2300 per BTC sold/rebought today (or whatever we're up to now), but maybe like $1700-1900 per BTC. And it was never the whole leveraged position.

I'm doing allllllllllright. 🎉

I can’t imagine selling that much in a short time unless it’s to a major institution that will 100% report the sale to uncle sam.
