Except the others of its kind aren't supported any more (except for Sonic, which has become a whole different beast altogether, thanks to Sega's increasingly terrible games and the insane Sonic fandom). Bubsy isn't the most generic one of his kind any more. He IS his kind.

It's not like Bubsy is alive and kicking, though, so I doubt this will move many copies. SNES emulators have existed for nearly two decades now, and Bubsy is by far and wide a joke.

So am I the only one who liked Bubsy as a kid? I was like 8 but it was no where near as bad as people here are making it out to be.

Depends on which game you mean. The 2D ones weren't awful. Bubsy 3D is one of the worst things ever made by a human.

No one knew about Jaguar Bubsy because the Jaguar sucked.

That was actually my first Bubsy game! I thought it was a fever dream until some internet reviewer mentioned it.

Snes9x is open source, but its license explicitly states it's not to be used for commercial use.

The developers are claiming they had permission to use SNES9x, but that's not important right now. This is what's important.
