Bubsy Returns - What could possibly go wrong

I wonder why they bothered. Pretty much everyone and their mom views Bubsy as a massive joke in the video game world.
Why are they even doing this? Did anyone ever even like this shit? I thought this franchise was only famous for being utter garbage with no fans.
Accolade probably wants people to buy the game ironically.

Maybe it'll become the new Bad Rats on Steam?

Nah, I'm joking but Bubsy's creator endorsed that shit.

Say what you do, but the original is a childhood classic of mine, and I always loved it and still think its replayable sometimes.

The one-hit point thing sucks, considering the weird physics, but on the other hand, you start with 9 lives because hurray for edgy puns.

That being said, its just gonna be another to chalk up for the "Unoriginal ideas hoping to make $$$" camp. I doubt it will be good unless its something like a "Bubsy 3" in the style of the 2 16-bit games. Because why not? Go for the Retro look.

Why hasn't anyone tried a Retro Look since Capcom did Megaman 9 & 10?

Oh hooray a floaty shit platformer just like back in the day!

I might have at least chuckled if Bubsy was some done up like he's been unemployed and homeless schzio for twenty years. Open with him fishing a half-eaten burger out of the garbage, then suddenly ADVENTURE CALLS and so he pisses on the trash can as he eats the burger, then leaps into action while blaming the jews!

Even then it would just be a shitty knockoff of Conker's Bad Fur day which was done back in the N64 days.

Bubsy II wasn't that bad of a game, but the first one and the PS1 game are absolutely terrible. Bubsy 3D came out a YEAR after Super Mario 64 and that was the best the developers could come up with.

I'm looking forward to the new game, but I don't expect it to be fantastic.

They have to be capitalizing on irony purchases. I'm pretty sure every major video game youtuber has done a video at one point or another mocking the Bubsy franchise.
