When was the last time you saw a white person running a hotel, staffing a 7-11, driving a taxi or pumping gas?

For me today. Hotels tend to have a lot of hispanics but I still see whites in most places, even when they’re a minority.

The only states I’m aware of that requires others to pump your gas for you are Oregon and New Jersey. I can’t speak of the latter but when I was visiting Oregon the vast majority of people who pumped my gas were white. Funny enough one was clearly smoking pot.. I always get a kick out of that.

I'm not arguing with you or shitting on your point here, but there's a difference between "IQ fetishism" and acknowledging the data that does exist on average IQ variance by race. The fact that people mostly refuse to discuss this variable honestly and seriously, even anonymously on the internet, is a big reason why there are so many insane people with weird, extreme ideologies built around it instead of well-developed, evidence-based, rational stances. Nobody is there to debate the true believers in this stuff because the genuine conversations are so rare.

IQ is not everything and wouldn't explain all differences in group outcomes. But it's a big factor, and it's hard to take people seriously who avoid the topic by exclusively focusing on culture (a huge factor as well), geography, etc.

I agree that it's not good that they've completely marginalized any race and behavior discussion. We already know that a large portion of behavior is genetic and a "race" is a group of people with similar genes (coming from shared ancestry). It follows that there should be racial effects on behavior. The question should be in what ways it effects behavior, but in the mainstream they refuse to even consider it as a possibility.

I think that geography and history play a larger role in determining culture/behaviors. One bit of evidence for that is I remember reading (correct me if I'm wrong, it was a long time ago) that Chinese have the "Warrior Gene" much more than the Maoris do, but the Maoris developed a far more warlike culture than the docile Chinese. All other things being equal, maybe a Chinese would be more likely to be violent, but the weight of all their other circumstances outweighs it.

Okay, I get you. Interestingly, the normal distribution's mode is also equal to the median and the average. In a continuous distribution, the probability of selecting a specific value is infinitesimally small, but we can still say that the high of the distribution function measures the relative likelihood of one of those infintesimally small probabilities against another, so the highest likelihood outcome is where the curve peaks. Which on a Bell Curve is right in the middle, but you can definitely construct a distribution where that's not the case. And of course with IQ we don't actually have a continuous distribution, but we have such a large discrete distribution that it's reasonable to approximate it with a continuous one.

There's lots of cases where I think mode isn't that useful. You have to look at the graph of the distribution to really tell what's the best way of explaining it.
