When Budweiser maker Anheuser-Busch announced earlier this year that it wanted to be the first company to brew beer on Mars, most commentators thought that it had its tongue lodged so firmly in its cheek that delicate surgery would be required to remove it.

It's not really a surprise, Budweiser routinely converts their production line to bottle water during natural disasters.

Well living on Mars would be a natural disaster. What with the climate, the horrific dust storms, that lovely 95% carbon dioxide atmosphere, the radiation and the lack of a magnetosphere. I'm all for colonization. But it's not really plausible to even send a manned mission out at this point. Sure they always say it's gonna happen. But I'd be surprised if it does in our lifetimes.

At least the colonists can get drunk and forget their misery thanks to Budweiser.
