Buzzheavier.com Thread - Anonymous file sharing website gets fucked by feds because somebody uploaded 9TB of CSAM on their servers

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I remember Anonfiles shutting down and their goodbye message insinuating they were probably quitting the site because of the same thing. Dealing with this shit must be exhausting.

Trying to automate the moderation, banning specific filenames and what not, but just not being able to keep up when all the content was being uploaded in bulk.

Pedos are fucking rotten, and sadly anything that touts anonimity tends to get swamped with them eventually.

How do you even fight against this? Whats stopping anyone from dropping CP on any uploadable website like Facebook/dropbox/MEGA?
You don't.
Nothing.
They will force every uploadable website to use a few certified glowing upload backends (Azure, Amazon, etc) which "proactively" discover CP and everything else of interest.
But if you run your own glowie-free solution, they will try breaching it until they get a false negative and wreck you as soon as they do.

Question, can't you automatically detect this kind of thing? It shouldn't be an issue to run ML to detect nudity and ML to detect children and if both come out as true then automatically refuse to upload an image file.
You can to some extent. If there is an unencrypted file, you can run it through a hashing algorithm and compare it to the list of hashes of known bad files.

There is even a website to add your own images to the list of bad images. If the hashing is automatic, it's probably possible to poison these lists with normal files to get people wrongly flagged. Otherwise they would have to manually review those images, which seems... dangerous.

The website says they do not review the images and that the hashing is done on device. So this sort of poisoning attack is probably possible, and maybe a way people can do this without being feds. (And feds to do it without distributing such material.)

(There is also a website to add images to the revenge porn list)

The fact not only somebody uploaded 9 terabytes of it, but the fact there's enough out there to accumulate 9TB. What a blackpill thought.

So, the the biggest thing to keep in mind is that pedophiles are overwhelmingly data hoarders. They aren't going to "curate" their collection to delete anything, because everything has trade value. It would be like deleting pedobucks.

Basically over the decades of internet pedoism, there's been this snowballing effect (enabled by storage getting cheaper), where all the people in the trading circles just amass larger and larger collections, so each "transaction" includes more and more videos. Nothing is every deleted and things are always added. So the total volume is just always going to creep up (pun intended).
