It's true. It's a lot fucking nicer to write code in than C++. The syntax is fucking miles above the godawful mess that C++'s syntax is. Ranges are a bit confusing but super cool when you figure them out. D's OOP model is a lot more straightforward than C++'s. The way D handles pointers is a lot safer than C and C++ and function pointers are pretty useful and powerful. I managed to pretty much emulate an entire virtual cpu worth of opcodes with an array of function pointers. It is garbage collected, but that can be turned off for code that needs it and it does interface with C well if you really need it.
