Call of Duty Thread - Potential return to form? Or nothing but cope on the horizon? You decide!

So, Alex from MW2019 survives the missile explosion, Graves survives his tank fight from MWII. Graves betrays 141 in favor of Shadow Company; now, they're working together with 141 and Farah to stop Marakov. Never mind that Graves commits war crimes in MWII and lies to Congress in MWIII. Shepard somehow gets captured and nobody in the military knows until they find him. Add insult to injury, they kill off two important character from the original trilogy in the most ass way possible.

And, there's no Al-Asad?

If I didn't know any better, this would be a half-assed political cover up turned into a video game. The hell kinda story is THIS?

Stepping outside of loading themes, the BO2 soundtrack is fucking amazing.
BO3 is more of a mixed bag, but it has some incredible dark ambient tracks in there.

I love the Black Ops II zombie menu theme. I believe it's a remix from the Black Ops 1 zombie theme.

I miss the XP progression bar during a multiplayer match. Black Ops removed it.

The Nu-MW trilogy story makes absolutely zero fucking sense to me, and whenever I think I have a grasp on why it's such a cluster fuck something new and dumb comes up that makes me question everything.

It wouldn't even be that bad if the fucking campaigns were fun and exciting, but they're fucking boring "realistic" shit most of the time. The only good mission in MWII was the convoy one, and it ended up dragging.

Funny how 2019 had a LOT of peeps who liked MW2019 back when it released. Realistic graphics, music, tacticool aesthetic and whatnot, but years down the line people have started despising the new MWs. CoD has neutered itself so much, moreso than the days of Ghosts-IW.

I was actually thinking about grabbing Infinite Warfare off of the PS Store; it's on sale right now for $19.79, and I got the Season Pass back when the game was more active. I did have some fun with the game back then despite its flaws, but do you guys think it's worth dropping $20 for the digital version of it, or no?

I assume it's probably dead, and if you just want to play the campaign you can get it cheaper on PC. maybe if you have an established group of friends for zombies so you don't have to rely on randoms.

No clue if it's been posted yet, but on Xitter apparently footage of a canceled CoD game title "NX1" or "Future Warfare" was leaked. It was being developed by Neversoft and would've taken the place of Ghosts in the release cycle.
Some context was also given by Brian Bright.

Here's some gameplay from the campaign... Using the word "gameplay" loosely here as it's mostly just an extended set piece.

Here's some gameplay from the Multiplayer. The game I guess was heavily based on Modern Warfare 2 and features a tiny bit of gameplay from one of the futuristic weapons, which seems to be an energy DMR with a recharging feature and equipped with an MW2 ACOG sight. Another thing to note is the horrible "glitching" effect when taking damage, I don't know what the fuck is going on there.

A multiplayer map list was also shown off, a lot of them seem to have working titles or are carry overs from MW2 and CoD4.
(also lol at Bin Laden's Compound)

The post will be updated with more info or content if I come across it.
(Edited the post because of issues with uploading, let me know if the footage is fucked up.)
For what it is, this game looked really solid in concept. Shame it got butchered for whatever rushed mess Ghosts ended up being.
Ghosts would've been a cool idea, had it not been a COD game but rather it's own stealth-action FPS franchise. Sort of like how Battlefield: Hardline would have been way better if it were its own cop vs robbers fps franchise.
Sadly, it seems whatever NX1 was supposed to be, ended up as Ghosts and potentially some portions of Infinite Warfare.

I can't edit my previous post about NX1/Future Warfare, but an extended 10 minute cut of the previously shown campaign mission has been released. When I can actually upload it to the site I'll make sure to do that since right now I'm having a hell of a time trying to upload this shit.

Talking about music, the spawn themes in MW2 and BO1 will always be the best. The Black Ops theme is cool, but my personal favorite has to be the song Rooftops from BO1, which is the song they used for the spawn theme of Operation 40.
Oh dude, the old COD ost's went so hard. I'll give credit where its due - some of the newer COD osts like the one Makarov has, or pretty much all of MW19, or some of Cold Wars soviet osts, are fucking bangers.

It was fairly dead last I played; still had enough people for a lobby most of the time, but it's very much not as active as it used to be. I would grab it on PC, but my computer is pretty shit overall, so console is my only real option.

It just speed-ran the decline from COD4 to Black Ops 4. They made a cool actiony tacticool shooter with cool guns and a good aesthetic, then Activision stepped in, "but imagine how much more money we'd make if we made this the gayest fuckin' game you'd ever played?" And then, strangely enough, everybody who liked the original game actually did not like Clown Faggot Squad Friends.

That's because CoD actually matured beyond run and gun arcade shooting. Playing MW2019 from previous CoDs was night and day. If CoD was a bi-yearly franchise, I think it could've lasted longer than the decline it has now from Vanguard to MWIII.

I want to give a shoutout to CoD: WWII's menu theme.

Dude, WW2 had such a fantastic soundtrack, it's a crime I neglected to mention it lol
To be honest, the foundation of the story (Daniels and Paul) was really ... eh? idk, boring. But overall, the idea of the story wasn't bad. I just wish they fleshed it a little bit more. Multiplayer definitely had and still has its extremely annoying balancing problems, but it was a fun game overall.

CoD: WWII was certainly a theme park experience for World War II. Not as bad as Vanguard, but certainly not as gritty as World at War. Those unlockable weapons/cosmetics through challenges and supply drops made the game goofy.

The brothers to the end theme was cheesy, but meant well.

The Black Ops 1 soundtrack is the second best imo. First place is easily the World at War soundtrack.
