Call of Duty Thread - Potential return to form? Or nothing but cope on the horizon? You decide!

Okay, I let install Modern Warfare install overnight. Guess what it did? It installed Warzone; now I cannot access Campaign or Multiplayer without downloading MORE packs.

Are they really prioritizing Warzone, a separate game mode, over the main game it was inspired from? That's crazy.

The Plunder game mode really takes me back to MW2 days. Unregulated voice chat at the end of the match. Bliss.

Cold War has been such a flop and it has even bled into Warzone. Activision should have just let MW get more content and let Cold War bake in the oven longer.
They could have just let Modern Warfare and Cold War exist independently. Infinity Ward could have still updated MW and Warzone, while Activision could have let Treyarch take a year old with Cold War.

No, they forced the two together. Well, they left Modern Warfare on the backburner.

The absolute first Modern Warfare was the shit and everything since then except BlOps 1 has just been shit.

And how are they going to do that?

Verdansk is getting pulled and Warzone new map is going to be a combination of all the Cold War Fire Team maps starting with Season 3 or 4.

It isn't so much that they forced Cold War into Warzone, it's that Warzone is the main game now and it has to reflect the yearly release from now on.

I'm just wondering if they're going to continue the trend next year since the rumor is that the next Sledgehammer game is going to be a World War II game again.

So Warzone is the platform, the main games are the appetizers? Why not the other way around?

Cause dumbass kids spend big bucks on Battle Royale skins for some ungodly reason I guess. That's the current "trend" in gaming is everything being microtransaction battle royale shit.

Edit: Also apparently Battle Royale is big on Twitch? I don't even get why that matters tbqh but apparently it does. I was told Cold War is "dead" because it doesn't get streamed as much on Twitch by some kid today. It seems the definition of "dead game" has changed dramatically in 10 years.

I think MW2019 had really good Multiplayer but not a lot of people seem to agree. BR is the just the next step for people when it comes to online gaming 6v6 does not cut it anymore and frankly everyone bitches about sweats or makes excuses why they lose. I really dig warzone its the only BR I like but the new engine from MW2019 is just so fucking smooth I hope the next COD has it.

The hard truth is people are simply better at games on average nowadays years ago if you were good at a game it was considered nerd shit but now its more lucrative to look "Good" so everyone is playing better, looking up the meta, and following guides.

So today's big complaint is that Cold War hasn't had a weapon balance patch in 3 months?

Jesus Christ, kids today would have lost their shit playing Modern Warfare 2. The only weapons that need any balancing are the ones that were released with Season 2, and Season 2 hasn't even been out for 3 weeks yet.

I thought kids had ADD 10 years ago but holy shit now they get upset if they don't get something new every single week it seems.

If the games not updated every week it’s dead. Games getting updates merely 10 years ago was a rarity the crazy thing is people will still say “OLD CODS WERE BETTER” but complain about lack of updates.

It's hilarious when I see 15/16 year olds saying COD is dead and they miss MW2 when they would have been like fucking 5 years old when it came out.

I still think Cold War kinda blows though MW was finally an advancement for the series and they just get Treyarch to reskin Bo4.

Modern Warfare's TTK and spawn system is sparodic. Not sure if it's my skill, but it's not uncommon to spawn, die, spawn, die. Sometimes I wonder, how did he get behind me?

Gunplay is superb and tight. But it still has that CoD issue with consistent balance.
