Call of Duty Thread - Potential return to form? Or nothing but cope on the horizon? You decide!

I still think Cold War kinda blows though MW was finally an advancement for the series and they just get Treyarch to reskin Bo4.

I mean Treyarch games have always felt different from IW games to me. I'm having a lot of fun with it, but there were some things that MW did better for sure.

I think it really depends on what game modes you play though. I play a lot of 6v6 stuff and I think Cold War does 6v6 better.

Warzone is stale and CW mp left a sour taste in my mouth after the rocky launch. The zombies is what keeps me coming back though. I just wish they would stop fucking with xp.

For how much I've heard people say Activision has COD seasons mapped out 6 months in advance, Warzones Outbreak feels like they literally just pulled it out of their ass.

It doesn't feel like an Outbreak at all. They can't even be assed to have more than one area infected at a time, which leads me to wonder why the fuck they put those Zombie Outbreak terminals in if they were all just going to remain at "5%" the whole fucking month.

I honestly wonder if they were scared the kiddies would throw a bitch fit at absolutely anything interesting happening in the game, or if they couldn't actually get it to work because of all the players on the map, or if this stupid shit was always the plan.

So after months of the usual youtubers and leakers claiming that the Ural Mountains was going to be the new Warzone map, a leak came out saying it was actually going to be a Cold War era Verdansk and it immediately got taken down everywhere by Activision.

If that's what they actually do the Warzone players are going to throw an absolute shit fit lmfao

If there is one thing I like about Warzone is how they didnt radically change the map fast like they did with Apex. I like Verdensk and frankly if they added a straight up new map people would hate on it.

Players are already getting angry because stim glitching is back.
Update is garbage frankly. I do know what is Ravens deal but when Infinity Ward still somewhat ran Warzone it was better than what is going on now however MW2019 just got 3 new maps so maybe Activision realized Cold War is not savable and are giving us the removed MW content.

We're getting a new map probably by end of April

Cold War isn't anywhere near dead. I do believe that Cold War somehow completely fucked up Warzone though. They release these three maps they been sitting on now, but they are (as far as I heard at least) still sitting on two operator packs, one being Soap which you know would sell big fucking time for Warzone.

People say they nixed it because it would have intersected with Cold Wars release but like...why? It's a Warzone skin and Warzone is supposed to be their constantly supported thing.

None of it makes sense.

If there is one thing I've learned it's that the COD community hates on everything. And yet it still makes money hand over fist.

Personally Verdansk is okay to me. I don't really like Warzone cause Battle Royale is fucking boring, but I play the Plunder mode once in a while and I never *hated* it so a 1980's version is fine with me.

Cod community is a mess really horrible mix of hardcore shills and hardcore detractors.

I like Verdansk, it really doesn't get old to me but I alternate between playing Warzone and the core game.

However I love the Black Ops aesthetics and some of the Fireteam maps are just beautiful especially Golova.

But the Fireteam interface is just so clunky. There's no way on the map to ping a location so trying to get your team grouped up to do something is a hassle.

2 maps were added to Modern Warfare, steathily with no announcement. Killhouse (remake of the COD4 map) and Drainage, a new Gunfight map. Gunfight is the best mode theyve added and im glad its a mainstay in all CODs going forward

lol some of these people absolutely losing their fucking shit on twitter at being wrong about the Ural Mountain map leaks is hilarious. In hindsight, it made no fucking sense since Season 2 of Cold War established that everything in 1984 was intersecting at Verdansk and it would make no sense to have a map that heavily revolves around water being in an engine that doesn't have swimming. The layout also doesn't make sense when compared to the Cold War fireteam maps.

They should've kept doing that even after the launch of Cold War. Modern Warfare could be a platform, not just Warzone.

Its even better because it all stemmed from youtubers hyping up information from scrapped together from barely readable files. Apparently Blackout was originally get this referred to as "Warzone" and some of the files were seen in Cold War which led to people hyping up everything out of proportion. I do not understand the "outrage" over this though. The map layout is the same but its clear a lot of landmarks are changed the game is hella buggy now though so ill complain about that.

the outrage i've witnessed has been entirely one sided, mostly from the influencers and youtubers who were pushing the leak hard. they look really fucking stupid now so they're going to go on and on about what a grave injustice this is since verdansk is just the worst fucking map ever even though all they did for the past 10 months was suck it off hardcore.

most of the players who i've seen take the time to reply and comment said they hated the idea of a new map.

something that a lot of these leakers keep pushing is that this is a "post cold war" verdansk as well, as in after the fall of the soviet union. i'm going to guess this will also, ultimately, prove to be incorrect and they're basing this information on the fact that it was stated at some point that Verdansk was "rebuilt" by the East and West after the cold war. these youtubers are so slow they don't even think that the rebuilding makes more sense to be a result of what would happen in a 1984 era Verdansk, and that completely fucking up the "rebuilt" verdansk that was mentioned would be stupid as hell as it would have to be rebuilt again.

Treyarch in pre-release livestreams actually said some of the old names they considered for Blackout and one of them was actually "Warzone"
