To the absolute shock of no one who pays attention to things, the heads of Cambridge Analytica quietly incorporated a new data business in late 2017 and let it sit idle until very recently before they announced they were shuttering their doors earlier today.

The suspended director of Cambridge Analytica, Alexander Nix, is once again at the helm of this new entity along with all the major players from CA. In addition to the cast and crew behind the controversial program of data farming, they've added a couple new players who are very close to Donald Trump's sphere.

Not shocking in the slightest, but will be forgotten quickly as most people will just remember that CA shut down shortly after the Facebook scandal.

after Blackwater got caught running execution squads and unauthorized black ops
not what happened with Blackwater (or XE, or Academi, or several other PMCs). however this sort of corporate rebranding and inclusion of the old management is nothing new, as it is more or less the founding principle of a corporation:

personal profit without personal responsibility. this shuffling of assets and control and names and boards is pretty common among financial institutions, brokerage houses, and several other businesses - often because the pursuit of non stop growth and profit to the exclusion of genuine corporate governance tends to burn out everyone. on top of that, you get the golden parachute types that outline agreements with each other to get big enough that if they go under, you have an awful lot of stake holders and debtors left out to dry.
