I used to camp in the summer, and fell in love with the state of Vermont during a two-week tour of its parks. Recently, the closest I've come to camping is setting up a tent while playing paintball. The opportunity to go camping has arisen again, as my cousin recently bought a failing campsite, and I can probably ask him for a discount.

Do we have any campers, hikers, or RV owners here?

My parents have a travel trailer that's pretty nice. When my dad retires in a few years my parents want to go camping around the country in their trailer.

We go camping at amusement parks and are planning to go to Cedar Point and Kings Island this summer, as well as our week long camping trip in central Ohio.

I want to borrow the tent we used to use and find a nice place to camp on my own.

Car camping here.

Edit to add : didn't realize this one got necroed. Sorry fellow kiwis

I need to get back out there. Didn't do much grass touching this year unfortunately.

The wife and I own a trailer we use from April until October. It belonged to my grandpa who deeded it to me in his will. It's 24 feet long and we love it. Don't get to go out as much as when grandpa was around, but we try to get it out two or three weekends during the season.

It's a fun hobby that I've seen more people take part of since the pandemic. I did tent camping as a boy scout and found a renewed love of it when I started going to music festivals as a teenager. Tent camping is such a pain for me now that I'm spoiled with a trailer, but I'm up for it every once in a while. I mostly go out for some peace and quiet, do a little fishing, and hang out with my Saint Bernard.

Here's this one dude that camps.
He sits in cars, vans, campers, the forest, or any other place and just sits there.

Camping (car or tent) is fun in the winter when the lows are about freezing or so. If you got a 0 F bag, I sleep like a baby or someone wasted on drugs.

The only downside is getting out of that bag to take a piss when it's 20 degrees out, then you got to get warm all over again.

Summer camping sucks... too humid, too many bugs, nights are too short to enjoy and the fucking Raccoons trying to steal my food bags that I hang up but they try.

Depends where you are. I love backpacking in/near the Rockies in the summer. The snow caps are melting so you're never too far from flowing water, and you can pretty much pick your desired temperature just by changing your elevation.

Anywhere that doesn't have snow caps is shit in the summer though. I wish Canada wasn't so fucking cucked, I would love to live there if it weren't for the people who live there.

I'm going out with a hammock instead of a tent for the first time this weekend. Looking forward to it. Been a hectic year and haven't gotten out to do anything more then a daily walk so going to do a decent trek into the hills, there's a spot I found years ago, too rough for a tent, should be perfect for a hammock.
