I've wondered and asked this before too. Even Marvin didn't know.

Borb could have taken him to the beach or a pool when he was little. There isn't too much known about his elementary and middle school years, right? Most people from the suburbs in a State with beaches know how to swim.

Didn't he say he enjoyed swimming at the YMCA, but wished the wave pool at McIntire Park were deeper, or something? In fact, wasn't the pool issue the last thing he was babbling about before the moderator of the meeting about McIntire Park cut him off?

Yeah. He also mentioned it in A Week With Christian Chandler, so I'd assume that he at least knew the basics
 
If not, his air-filled head and gas-filled intestines will be good swim bladders for when Ruckersville floods in the next superstorm.
 
Badly, assuming he knew how. He doesn't have the stamina to keep his head above water for long.

But he fully forgives Megan for all of her misdeeds against him :(
 
With his body fat content, he'd probably float well enough that he might have a chance at propelling himself in the water. Not to mention the grease in his hair would provide some level of lift.
