Can science solve the world’s problems?

Romans 1 said:
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and injustice of those who by their injustice suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. Ever since the creation of the world God’s eternal power and divine nature, invisible though they are, have been seen and understood through the things God has made. So they are without excuse, for though they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their senseless hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and they exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling a mortal human or birds or four-footed animals or reptiles.

Romans 1 cont. said:
And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them over to an unfit mind and to do things that should not be done. They were filled with every kind of injustice, evil, covetousness, malice. Full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, craftiness, they are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, rebellious toward parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. They know God’s decree, that those who practice such things deserve to die, yet they not only do them but even applaud others who practice them.

If you can engineer a scientific way out of that mess, I'll eat my own effing Flex Tape.

Science is not just science, it leans on financial and political dynamics to exist. So yes science can solve the world’s current problems but it also can create new and harder to solve ones, like inventing profitable but retarded shit such as tetraethyllead, dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane or thalidomide.

That explains killings of some alchemists in the Middle Ages.

That while orderd by the Church wasn't for religious reasons even though it was dressed up as that by Transmution and impacts on the magisty of God, it was because they feared Alchemical Gold production removing them as the top dog of Finance (thus power) across Europe the subject is really interesting especially who they chose to target.

A lot of Alchemists where Alchemists on the side normally as part of there profession normally medicine and mineralogists / mine owners, they where normally trying to fined better ways of making medicine or refining certain metals, they dabbled in "The Great Work" but only really as trying to fit there work into the larger protoscientific thought of the day, including trying to fit it into older works they where reluctant to challenge and if they did they had to have a lot of proof and suck off others in there work to gain any kind of acceptance.

The one's who normally got targeted by the Church and other officials where court alchemists, who did that first and engaged in astrolocisim, art and politics who where also more vocal about there direct challenges to church doctrine on some subjects who got protection from there patrons normally Royalty or High Nobility, it was normally when they crossed some line of serious heresy i.e. telling the church they where wrong they ran into trouble.

You can't just ask this question without defining what the problems are. Social problems? Probably some of them. Climate change? It's probably the only way to get us out of it, but also the biggest reason nobody fucking agrees on it and probably responsible in the first place.

Science has never solved a single problem without creating new ones to replace it. Name a problem, literally any problem in this world, and I can tell you how science has made the problem worse, not better.
Aging, food production, warfare (like it or not nukes have kept ww3 away), transportation and trade.
