Can someone explain this movie franchise to me? I don't get it

We've entered the 19th century. We should have a clean shot ahead of us to 2100 just through films with years in the title, beyond that it will dry up before (likely) dead ending at 3200 when I can no longer use DVDs with dates in them (theres no 32nd date of any month).

Regardless for now, the harvest is plentiful.
