Hi. I know this is a controversial subject I'm about to thread about but as a person with highly diverse political viewpoints and a desire to know and understand what the users of Kiwi Farms think on a deeper level. I'm disappointed by the Autistic Thunderdome.
I'm aware of it's history (barely) and am aware that it is treated as a containment forum to make sure threads don't get poisoned by politiciposting. I've had a complicated relationship with the Autistic Thunderdome section of the forum mainly due to my diverse political views and no, it's not orange man bad or orange man good. Politics in the traditional form is nuanced and complicated, politicians get into deep debates just showing and talking about their political aspirations, viewpoints and desires to each other and the American people. I treat politics in general as if it were a job so to speak. It's not just having sex with a microphone or grandstanding the illusion of Democracy like loser Kamala Harris did, it's about having the capability and willpower to actually do what is needed for the American people in my opinion.
With that being said, I am disappointed by US General Politics Thread 2 being all about Zelensky.
I get it, he is doing a fuckshit job but why is it that all the posts in that thread all consist of the same viewpoint with no differences.
And I do not want to go far when it comes to politics. I'm not far-left or far-right and if I wanted to take the easy route. I would just dumb down my posts and I'd be getting green checkmarks instead of autistic pieces.
Hell, I'd even throw in a bit of Russian for points.
I could care less about rep, the main point of this feedback thread is to see if there's anyway there can be a spinoff for intellectual political discussion in addition to moving some threads around of political nature like the Elon Musk thread and the BlueSky thread.
The containment section should not go away in any form.
This forum has been good in providing a window to the lives of the most fucked up people on the planet Earth. There are real people on this forum, more so than Twitter or 4chan and hate me when I say this but I would like to get to know them a bit more. Besides, this forum treats free speech more respectfully than any other place right now. Where else can you say words that would get you banned elsewhere?
However and seriously, Autistic Thunderdome as it is right now is unsatisfactory, too much like Twitter and 4chan.
I don't know if these suggestions and this thread will be taken seriously. I would like there to be discussion but if not, eh. I just won't go into the Autistic Thunderdome. This would be beneficial to the forum and it's users in my opinion.
